Why are guys so weird? Unravel the mystery. A national scientific survey and in-depth personal interviews give you an unprecedented look inside the teenage male mind. Discover how:

  • He'd be perfectly fine if he was loved by few and hated by many as long as he was respected by all.
  • His ego is the size of Africa (but so are his insecurities).
  • He hides his real feelings under a tough exterior.
  • He's magnetized by pretty girls but also wants to find a diamond in the rough.
  • He actually does want to marry a virgin.
  • He just wants you to be yourself.

It's the inside scoop you've been waiting for! You'll come to not only understand him, but also know what he might really be thinking about you.

This book gives some helpful advice if you are interesting in dating boys from your church. If you are dating boys that aren't necessarily Christians, I would recommend, He's Just Not That Into You, instead. It's a bit more practical when trying to figure out your average guy.

This book reinforces gender stereotypes. Most of the stuff the majority of guys struggle with seems like universal human struggles I can relate to as a female and also a large chunk of information in the book is about looks. How you should dress so you don't tempt men, how you should be a healthy weight because most men are less attracted to overweight women, etc. Then they also sprinkle in how you shouldn't change to try to impress men and how God made you special etc. And then at the end of the book there is all this "Just be yourself" nonsense after most of the book has been telling us how we should be based on the most popular survey answers. Plus there are disturbing messages about how guys will go all the way with women but then they also want a virgin. Just lots of mixed messages. I was cringing as I listened to this book and I don't know if it's healthy reading for teen girls. Teen girls need real confidence and not all this focus on guys. It had a handful of interesting points but most was just cringe. Sorry

Seems like dating book and full of mixed messages

I was excited to read For Young Women Only because I thought it would give me helpful and easy-to-understand insight into the inner world of guys, similar to what For Men Only did when I read that one. The first three chapters were good and felt like what I was looking for, but after that the book shifted in a different direction. It focused heavily on guys being visual and struggling with temptation, repeating that point a lot. Honestly, I ended up skipping sections because it left me feeling weighed down instead of encouraged. I think this could be disappointing for other young women who buy the book expecting something light, balanced, and eye-opening about men. I just want to share this so no one else has the same letdown I did.
