I liked the resolution of the mystery with the multiple twists and turns and Hester and Monk’s growing relationship

What did you love best about The Sins of the Wolf?

I loved the way the 1800's came alive.

What does Davina Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Great with the different accents and characters.

Any additional comments?

I found it hard to accept that the prosecution believed that a nurse who had given so much to the soldiers in the Crimean would poison someone so that she could get an expensive piece of jewelery. She wasn't in debt; she just wanted the money she could get. I just don't buy it. I loved the characters though.

Great and intense.

I enjoy this series and this book does not disappoint. Emotions are realistic and family secrets once again prove they can't be held secret forever.

Not easy to forget.

I loved this book. Characters had full range of emotions. Courthouse setting with Florence Nightingale was very moving.

This thrilling story takes place in Edinburgh. An interesting twist is the wealthy Scottish family at the center of the novel. With Hester's life in peril, Callandra, Monk, Oliver Rathbone, and even Florence Nightingale come to her aid. Beyond that is the secret held in the wealthy family, unravelled by Monk and Hester, who remain in Scotland. The novel is a tragedy of epic proportions, narrated superbly by the incomparable Davina Porter.
