In Character is Destiny, McCain tells the stories of celebrated historical figures and lesser-known heroes whose values exemplify the best of the human spirit. He illustrates these qualities with moving stories of triumph against the odds, righteousness in the face of iniquity, hope in adversity, and sacrifices for a cause greater than self-interest. The tributes he pays here to men and women who have lived truthfully will stir the hearts of young and old alike, and help prepare us for the hard work of choosing our destiny.©2005 John McCain and Marshall Salter; (P)2005 Books on Tape Career Success Motivation & Self-Improvement Personal Development Personal Success Relationships Inspiring

This book is a great start to what I feel should be the focus of more writers. We should update this type of material year over year and preach these ideals in schools across the country so that young folks don’t use TikTokers as role models, but people of character. I enjoyed that this book not only named a character trait and the person but why they exemplified that trait. Well done!

Narration: clear, resonant, compelling

Content: prologue is in itself worth cost of purchase. More importantly, what is said therein is at least as important as the inspirational stories told.

Exceptional book about the people John most admired. I will now read biographies of at least a half dozen of these amazing people.

Where does Character Is Destiny rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is in the lower middle somewhere. I have plowed through some worse books, but I have been excited and stimulated by more. I did not find this was all that exciting and stimulating. It is not like I want my money back, but overall I would have to say only that it was OK.

It was OK, but not outstanding.

In my opinion this book should be recommended reading for pre teens and teens.
I didn’t finish but recommend gifting to teens.

Love anything John McCain
