The narrator was great in placing you inside the story. The book itself was very funny in a very dark way

Great story, great narrator

Incredibly heinous book, but could appeal to those with a dark sense of humour. Nick Landrum made it possible to listen to the whole thing, even it it is overly long and almost frantically scattered.

The message of the book is quite good and well carried over though. I'd recommend it if you can stomach it.

Fantastic narration, difficult book.

Would you listen to American Psycho again? Why?

Absolutely. So addictive. Easton Ellis gave me something, and now it's over, and I'm sad.

What did you like best about this story?

Bateman's eye for detail.

Have you listened to any of Nick Landrum’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No.

Who was the most memorable character of American Psycho and why?

Bateman obviously. I think aspects of his character will resonate with most people.

Any additional comments?

Also, a very interesting insight into 80's yuppie America. So much of the social commentary holds true today.

Believe me, u ain't ready for this...

The level of detailing in the story is mind blowing. Effortlessly it let's you drift into the head of Bateman, and describes things in ways so you feel you are there yourself.

However, utter elegantly, it also portrays the state of mind of the main character by switching effortlessly between first and third person - depending on his level of control (something I noticed only second or third time I read the book).

This book is a must for all who wants to experience just how captivating books can be!

One of the best written books ever

The narration was very good, both in terms of pronunciation and animation in the voice. The book was written in such a way, as to make a point, and in my opinion it is a social critique. There are a lot of details and they will sometimes be somewhat boring to a listener, but there are also scenes that are terribly violent and brutal, but both of these characteristics help to underline the author's point, so it works!

A good listen!
