New York City is thrown into chaos by the assaults of the Bone Collector, a serial kidnapper and killer who gives the police a chance to save his victims from death by leaving obscure clues. The cops go to Lincoln Rhyme, an ex-NYPD forensics expert left paralysed after an accident on the job. Rhyme reluctantly postpones his ambitions towards suicide and puts together a forensic investigation team, enlisting as his eyes and ears young police officer Amelia Sachs.

Rhyme digs deep into the only world he has left - his astonishing mind - and slowly begins to narrow the noose around the Bone Collector. But the kidnapper is narrowing his own noose - around Lincoln Rhyme.

It's been years since a crime story twist got me like this one. It's great when a book makes your jaw drop in surprise.
The narration of the character Delrey was terrible, but the rest were good.

Well I'll be damned!

Great story, but how did this narrator convince anyone he should do this. He puts on these accents for different characters that would be screamingly funny if he wasn’t being serious

Narrator seared a hole in my eardrum

A narrator can make, or break a novel. This narrator kinda broke this novel for me. It wasn’t even that he was teriyaki, but he really put a stamp on the novel that felt overly dramatic. It didn’t need it, less is more. I find it hard to see beyond his performance and don’t really know how I feel about the novel. I like the story and really enjoyed the movie. I would have to read this book, instead of listening to it to form a neutral opinion, though I do feel the weight itself might not be entirely my cup of tea. The narrator let this book down with the over acting

Narrator let it down for me

I’ve always loved the movie and knew the book would be better but the performance of the narrator made it an incredible book.
Fantastic character distinction in his voice, I’ll listen to this again and again.

Well Worth it.
