#1 New York Times bestselling author Peter Straub’s classic tale of horror, secrets, and the dangerous ghosts of the past...

What was the worst thing you’ve ever done?

In the sleepy town of Milburn, New York, four old men gather to tell each other stories - some true, some made-up, all of them frightening. A simple pastime to divert themselves from their quiet lives.

But one story is coming back to haunt them and their small town. A tale of something they did long ago. A wicked mistake. A horrifying accident. And they are about to learn that no one can bury the past forever...

Get it together, Audible. It's becoming the norm for me to return books more often than I listen to them.

this story is by no means bad, but it really takes a while to get going and it was difficult for me to keep track of the characters. I think this story may be more enjoyable to read than to listen to as I kept kind of losing focus.

slow to start, slow to finish

good story, but a little long winded.

Not a bad story, but way too much exposition, too many characters and FAR too much useless blabbity-blah. It could be 5 hours less and much more concise. The narrator is less aggravating if you speed it up to 1.25 or so. Elements of The Shining and Dracula... just get to the dang point already!
