Editorial reviews

A drought in the United States, as disaster preparedness consultant David Black explains, usually just has economic ramifications; a drought in eastern Africa might lead to death. That is, however, no excuse not to be prepared. After 9/11, it became apparent that the times are changing, and we are more susceptible to disaster than ever. In What to Do When Shit Hits the Fan, performed by prominent Audible narrator Steve Coulter, listeners will get detailed plans and methods of response for times of crisis, whether it's terrorism, catastrophic weather, or civil unrest.

This was a free download, so I can't complain much. There were a couple of mispronounced words and the details are stale, especially after the Trump administration changes and the impact of Covid-19. This was not a waste of my time, but not good enough to recommend today.

Good exposure to the topic, but somewhat outdated

Some of the author’s information as if came from the children’s section of the library, simple common sense info. Example, a flood is excessive water. However, author did have some good helpful facts.

Nothing really new here. Just a good overview of what anyone prepping would already know.

This is a good overview of many aspects of disaster response. It’s only flaw is (duh) it’s an audiobook rather than hard copy. As a reference text, it is probably best printed, i.e., in a format that can be easily perused or read. That said, it covers a lot of ground and is very good.

Very good, but…
