Death to the Children of Bhaal!

On the run and hunted by everyone in Faern, Bhaal’s offspring are being wiped out. Instead of ridding the land of evil, each kill gives more power to a vicious group of Bhaalspawn intent on returning their father to the world.

Follow the ultimate battle of the children of Bhaal in this thrilling novel based on the computer game from BioWare and Interplay!

Unfortunately, like the other books in the series, this story suffers from outdated masc/fem tropes that can't be fully redeemed by the generally well-done storytelling. The main characters are one dimensional and hard to get invested in or to see real growth.

As an intended to be amusing side, there's always one thing that stands out in repetition to me in each of the 3 novels in this series so far. In the first one, it was the author describing how awful everything smelled, in the second, Jaheira's (much potential here wasted) primary action was to scream, and in this last one it was the use of "taint of Bhaal" to what felt like excess.

The Taint of Bhaal...

A wild tale of a muscle-bound hero who stumbles into victory after victory, losing his siblings to assassins and his lover to dragon chow along the way. Who needs strategy when you’re the son of a god battling divine heirs with actual tactics and weapons designed to counter your powers? Fantastic writing—tell me again how tall and muscular our hero is; I’m not done laughing at this failed DnD campaign. Just stick to the game , the story is waaaaaaay better there.

Wonderous adventures of meat shield man
