It's always been just Kate and her mom - and her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate's going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family, and the fear her mother won't live past the fall.
Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld - and if she accepts his bargain, he'll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.
Kate is sure he's crazy - until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she'll become Henry's future bride, and a goddess.

Then I got to the end...
All the redeeming sweetness of the novel was washed away when it was revealed that even the poor girl's mother was in on her mass manipulation. She was basically bread to replace her sister... and put through psychological Hell for it.
I was impressed until the end...

What did you love best about The Goddess Test?
I listened to the audio book of this one and I quite enjoyed it! This is a fun YA novel that I became instantly hooked on and had to listen to it everywhere-in the car, at work, while doing the dishes, or even just laying in bed when I should have been sleeping.I really enjoyed the way the author mixed in the Greek mythology and made it more modernized, the story was a really fun tale to follow and I got through the whole thing in only a day or two, which meant I instantly had to eat up all of the other books in the series because I was so involved in the interactions between Kate and all of the other characters that I had to know what happened with them as I went forward.
