One of the most artful narratives ever written concerning the life of "The Maid". Hilaire Belloc writes with a familiarity only possessed by those with an intimate knowledge of the facts. A Catholic, of both French and English descent; Belloc clearly had an emotional affinity for this episode in the long struggle between the two nations.

I loved listening to this and a wonderful narration. Story is very credible but leaves so much of her story out!

Wonderful but limited

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

This is the worse audiobook I have ever listened to. The narrator reads to quickly and with no inflection. The constant WWII-newsreel-style staccato drove me crazy.

Would you be willing to try another book from Hilaire Belloc? Why or why not?

Additionally, I don't find this to be Belloc's best work.

TERRIBLE NARRATION!!!
