“A visionary roadmap for people who believe they can change the world—and invaluable advice about bringing together the partners and technologies to help them do it.” —President Bill Clinton

A radical, how-to guide for using exponential technologies, moonshot thinking, and crowd-powered tools, Bold unfolds in three parts. Part One focuses on the exponential technologies that are disrupting today’s Fortune 500 companies and enabling upstart entrepreneurs to go from “I’ve got an idea” to “I run a billion-dollar company” far faster than ever before. The authors provide exceptional insight into the power of 3D printing, artificial intelligence, robotics, networks and sensors, and synthetic biology. Part Two draws on insights from billionaires such as Larry Page, Elon Musk, Richard Branson, and Jeff Bezos and reveals their entrepreneurial secrets. Finally, Bold closes with a look at the best practices that allow anyone to leverage today’s hyper-connected crowd like never before. Here, the authors teach how to design and use incentive competitions, launch million-dollar crowdfunding campaigns to tap into tens of billions of dollars of capital, and finally how to build communities—armies of exponentially enabled individuals willing and able to help today’s entrepreneurs make their boldest dreams come true.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Linear thinking and taking little baby steps leads nowhere fast. In this day and age we have serious issues we are facing and we need creative thinkers to provide innovative solutions. In the past it was very challenging to be a game changer, but Bold does a great job of helping one to realize just how accessible resources are to turn ideas into reality.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bold?

"If your community can provide a legitimate release valve for people's incredibly frustrated passion, you are unleashing one of the most potent forces in the history of the world."

What about Steven Kotler’s performance did you like?

Made it sound like a conversation.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes I wanted to but there is no way I could. I had to take it in doses so that I could internalize the exponential possibilities that this book throws out nonchalantly as if they were common knowledge. The knowledge dropped in this book is all but common.

You Will Never Think The Same

I sometimes had to stop listening while driving bc the narrating voice was so monotone I wld sometimes zone out. This frustrated me though bc the content is so relevant and so insightful that I did not want to stop listening. Anyway, I still completed the book quickly and I will be buying the printed version of it bc there was too much info to commit to memory. The book and a highlighter will be a must for me.
This man has a brilliant mind and is being led by a good soul.

A book so relevant in this day and age

There are three distinct parts in this book, with each beginning at 100km in the air before grounding to the pavement.

The first part is required reading for anyone looking for inspiration or information on the mega trends reshaping our world and the opportunities that presents.

The second is for those who need the mental tools to grasp the exponential opportunities presented by these mega trends.

The third part, and arguably the weakest or strongest depending on your interest, is a how to guide at leveraging the crowd to execute on those opportunities.

It's inspiring stuff, that is partly let down in later chapters of each part by somewhat monotone narration of the increasingly more list and memo orientated writing style.

It's a minor complaint of an otherwise excellent listen that perhaps simply reflects the enthusiasm and density of the material on offer here that the authors are determined to convey.

I'll be revisiting this one often.

Fantastically inspiring before disappearing in the weeds
