Adult Children of Alcoholics/Dysfunctional Families (ACA) is an independent 12-step and 12-tradition anonymous program. ACA's tenth tradition states that ACA has no opinion on outside issues; hence the ACA name ought never be drawn into public controversy. ACA's sixth tradition states that ACA ought never endorse, finance, or lend the ACA name to any related facility or outside enterprise (or books/authors) lest problems of money, property, and prestige divert us from our primary purpose. Book description: The ACA Fellowship Text is owned, copyrighted, and published by ACA WSO. ACA WSO acts as the central agency of the program, gathering and disseminating meeting information, creating and distributing literature, and providing information to the general public. The ACA Fellowship Text (commonly referred to as the Big Red Book or BRB) is a meeting book, steps book, traditions book, workbook, and group guide. The ACA Fellowship Text was anonymously written by ACA members and provides guidance on working the 12 -step ACA program, leading to recovery from the effects of growing up in an alcoholic or otherwise dysfunctional family. ACA WSO has adapted AA's steps (with permission from AA) to address the effects of childhood trauma and neglect and offer hope to ACAs worldwide.

Aloha! Listening to audio book while reading the book supports my learning style. A meeting I attend uses it to listen to during meeting. Helps allow the reading time of meeting because not everyone has books yet.

Audio Book supports 12 step study.

Too bad the chapters aren't labeled and organized better. If this is based on page numbers it would have been nice to be provided a pdf. The delivery was at times forced sounding, but wasn't too bad when I set the speed to .9
I felt like the content was a disorganized jumble of other 12 step ideas, stories, and of course the much touted laundry list. still, it was interesting and helpful, especially for someone already interested in recovery. I think if the chapters were clearly labeled I could have gotten a lot more out of the vast material.

Meh

17 chapters of accreditations....ZZZ zz 😴 took way to long to get to the meat and potatoes of this book. By the time it got into it I had lost interest and it made it very hard to listen to.

snooze alert. skip past chapter 17

The contents of this book is great. But I could hardly stand to listen to it. Why would you have a book that is so important read by nonprofessional readers? I understand that there was probably some sort of meanings behind that decision, but it was negligent. It will deter people from listening to it.

Non-professional narrators. Why?!?
