Publisher's summary

Welcome to Willow Creek. People are happy, crime is practically nonexistent, and life is good...unless you're Sabine Crowley. Sabine has been chosen to be the next blood bag for the vampire lord who has protected the town from otherworldly creatures for 200 years.

Sabine has big dreams for her life, and none of them include becoming a vampire's concubine. On her 18th birthday, she seeks solitude to process the cruel turn her destiny has taken. As she sits alone in Cleary Park, a sexy stranger approaches her. He's tall, mysterious, handsome, and a complete jerk. He soon reveals himself to be a vampire; Sabine is terrified of him and her strange attraction to him. She wants to get as far away from him as possible, yet finds herself wondering if she'll see him again.

Remy, the cocky newcomer vampire, has been summoned by his maker, Bastian, to take his place beside his maker in the hierarchy of vampires inhabiting Willow Creek. He's none too thrilled to be stuck in a boring little town in the middle of nowhere, where he'll have to feed exclusively from the girl he's been paired with. He's repulsed by the whole situation.

When Sabine tries to run away from her fate, Remy is forced to follow her and bring her back. They're unwillingly thrust into each other's lives and, reluctantly, find an undeniable attraction between themselves. Will they ever look past their contempt for one another and act on their urges? Or are they destined to hate each other forever?

Suprisingly good

So Im not usually into m/f main charachters, prefer m/m but at times I find some good once that I cant resist. Been looking for some vampires for a while and when I saw Joel Froomkin/Leslie narrate this how could I resist? The story was suprisingly good and I fell in love with Remy as soon as the story started. Even more suprising was that I ended up liking Beanie. Females charachters are usually so whiney so when her sarcasm and witty comments came up I couldnt help but laugh and she quickly grew on me! One of the better vampire series I have listened/read to.
This one is far better than the second and third book in the series, but the rest are still verry well written. So happy Joel Froomkin/Leslie did the whole series by himself, he is good at both male and female voices and he really succeeded with this one!

CRAVING more!!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes - I loved it. I thought the characters were so well drawn, funny, real and flawed in a way that created perfect chemistry. Summers has created a great, original premise for what could be a tired theme, and filled it with two lead characters that crackle with intensity. They are smart, witty and i found this totally addictive. And the narrator only adds to enjoyment - his peformance is awesome.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Craving?

Sabine's dreams are pretty darn hot... and I love when you hear Remy's inner thoughts.

Which scene was your favorite?

There's a scene where the characters are having a really intense discussion... It was heartbreaking and I realized I had become totally invested in the story.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Dinner is served. Meet Sabine Crowley.

Any additional comments?

I was blown away by how original and how much I enjoyed the beginning of this series. If you're a Twi-hard or fan of True Blood etc. not only will you enjoy this...but you'll find it fresh, inventive and a totally entertaining experience.

Accent on Excellence

Joel Froomkin provided his skilled narration to this vampire story. His accents brought life and interest to the male characters. The storyline itself was predictable, but the hint of something more, something hidden, has peaked my interest enough to want to continue with the series.

Would have been better if it was shorter.

When this book started I was excited. It seemed like an Interesting enough story, but as it when on there were many points where I thought okay its coming to a close this a nice story and then something else would happen. For me this would have been a four star book if the last hour was cut off.

Hate to Love

Emmersed in paranormal doctrine a heroine with a slight rebellious streak makes for great entertainment. Intwine the rebellious heroine with a cocky vampire and the laughs wont stop.

Riveting Story

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this book to vampire lovers and non-vampire lovers, alike. The story is one that all can relate too. The characters are believable, and you are drawn to both of the main characters.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sabina and Remy are both my favorites. Sabina is a young woman with the world awaiting her. Unfortunately her parents have already locked apart of her life for her in advance. Sabina struggles with this, and that is very understandable. Remy is the sexy, smart, vampire that unfortunately has closed his heart due to a hurt past. His master has sealed the deal for him as well, with Sabina. When they finally meet, it's hard to turn away from this hateful dance. Sabina wants love, passion, and to see the world, not to be betrothed to anyone. Remy is resistant and a purposeful irritant in her life, because it's fun. I don't want to spoil anything, but this is a page turner.

Have you listened to any of Joel Froomkin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is a my first experience with Froomkin; moreover I will be a fan from this book forward.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Oh yes, when they finally take down their walls and confess their feelings for one another. Sabina becomes so vulnerable, and I could completely feel what the author described.

Any additional comments?

The books are a bargain for such a lovely love story between vampire and human. I am off to book two.
