Publisher's summary

Captain Jason Burke has begun to suspect that the random attacks on his ship and crew over the last couple of years may not be so random after all. Evidence is mounting that there is something on the Phoenix...something that powerful factions will stop at nothing to get their hands on. While Omega Force races to find out what is hidden on their ship that is causing so much trouble they also must figure out why such powerful enemies bent on obtaining it. They'll need to rely on old allies, and a few old adversaries, to unravel the mystery that's been hovering over them since they first stole the gunship from the treacherous Deetz so long ago. The crew is used to fighting long odds, but will they be prepared to sacrifice everything to keep the Phoenix's secret from falling into the wrong hands?

The biggest Omega Force story so far

Joshua Dalzelle's storytelling talents expand noticeably as he progresses through the books of the Omega Force Series. The first book in the series was easily digested simple fun. But each book expands the series in character and complexity.

And after five great volumes, we arrive at Secret of the Phoenix. This book twisted and turned, brought in new and interesting character while reintroducing what I loved about the established ones, and provided an overall story that felt massive in scope over the previous books.

This book has the qualities that are found in other, well established and beloved sci-fi universes. But the story is all its own.

Paul Heitsch's performance remains solid. His general storytelling is very good, and his dedication to performing each character with independence and originality really shows through.

Don't read this book before reading the previous ones. It has many connections to the older books, and having that knowledge for this book pays many rewards.

One of the best in the series

The author broke some new ground on this one for Omega Force. He was able to take the existing formula and bring himself out of his comfort zone, resulting in one of the best additions to the series yet.

Each book seems to get better than the last, in my opinion. I really enjoy the crew interaction/dynamic. The witty banter continues to improve with each book. I hope this trend continues. very enjoyable.

Great book, wonderful series.

I love Firefly and Serenity from Joss Whedon...this book and this Omega Force series is a close second to my all time favorite SciFi adventure; Firefly......If you enjoyed Firefly, give this series a try...You will not be disappointed ...

Another home run

With each successive book in the series I am amazed at the creativity and consistency of the story line and characters. The performer brings the book to life. He is one of the best readers I've listened to.

Top Notch

What do you do when you're accidentally kidnapped from planet earth in a spaceship? Escape your captor, rescue people in trouble, and kick some ass along the way?

Yes, please!

This is one of my favorite science fiction series of all time. It's fun, witty, ridiculous, and the characters are absolutely fantastic.
Paul Heitsch delivers time and again in each book of this series. He is able to impart a distinct characteristic and tone of voice for each of the many different types of characters and peoples.
I sincerely hope to see many more books in this series for years to come.
