My favorite Series!

Paranormal romance at its finest. I love this series.

This book has a great story line. Just the perfect balance of romance, action, suspense, and fantasy.

Narrator does a great job

Loved it!!!

Took me a little bit to get used to the narrator's voice, but once I did I absolutely loved it! Can't wait to get the next one!

Entertaining

The narrator was okay she read fast at times and got her voices mixed up. as far as the story I thought it was good , but I wanted more of a love story. I think at times the main character put herself and her friends in unnecessary Danger. I understand that is part of the authors story building,overall it was an entertaining read.

Couldn't put it down

My teen daughter and I both loved it. Nearly impossible to put down. Definitely listen when you have time for the 3 book marathon.

3.5 stars. World building & romance foundations.

Mild Spoiler Alert:

I listened to this at the recommendation of a loved one. I must say, I don’t usually go for paranormal/vampire/werewolf shape-shifting/fantasy/young adult/romantic intrigue stories. This story has all that and more. Oh and if you’re looking for clean, this is it. However, it’s the first of a trilogy/serial about this couple Sara and Nikolas. You can feel the chemistry between them in this first novel, but the novel is not focused on their romance. Rather, the focus is on the contemporary world-building, self discovery regarding Sara's parentage and lineage; where she belongs in the paranormal world in the present; and her quest to discover her father’s killer. There is well described danger and intrigue, and you feel how Sara feels torn between two worlds – one where she yearns to be a normal teen girl and the paranormal world calling her to fulfil her destiny. She and Nikolas do not become a couple in this story but he does a great smoulder… and his actions are the sort of thing that build the foundations for romance later on. I hope their relationship develops deeply in book 2.

So how to rate a story that usually isn’t my thing (because I prefer the romance to be the focus of a story). Well, the writing is very good, the suspense is spine tingling, the action paints a vivid picture, the paranormal world is intriguing, the community of friends and family is warming; the potential for a romance teases with possibility.

The story is 4 star, the narration is 3 star ok. So I’d say 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. It was a great foundation for the romance to really grip me in books 2 and 3.
