Men ruin women...especially men like Chase Davis. Good looking, intelligent, rich, and powerful - I never stood a chance. When he entered my life, I was finally healing after having barely survived the men of my past. My soul sisters told me to take a chance, to let someone in. I let him in, and he surrounded me with a light so bright that I was blinded by the truth.

Men don't ruin women. They devour them in every way that counts.

Love the story line but the voice of the reader comes of robotic and took awhile to get used to. It comes alive during direct interactions but mostly narrates robotically.

Excellent story

Chase is a total red flag of a man. Possessive, jealous to a psycho degree, controlling, and not much different from Gigi’s exes. He may not beat her, but he smothers and controls every aspect of her life and disguises it with love bombing. I guess it’s okay because he is attractive and the “master of the universe”. She is self aware and should know better. Also, if you have trauma regarding domestic violence or other things that I will leave unsaid, you might want to skip this one. It gets detailed to say the least.

So many red flags

Gillian is nuts. She goes for drinks with Chase. Barely into the date another woman insinuates herself between the bar stools between her and Chase. Chase allows her to put her hands all over him, kiss him and rub herself all over him. Rightly so, Gillian leaves. However, she stupidly runs into a bad part of the city and gets herself mugged. Chase takes her back to the hotel and of course she wants to have sex with him.

I have a big problem with the man allowing other women to put their hands and other body parts on them. I also have a problem with the stupid women that just overlook this.

The story is a ok story, the romance is typical and it's lusty. But my biggest problem with it is that the side characters are used sooo annoyingly. "Oh maybe we should have a Latina character? But let's not have her be anything more than a Spanish accessory to the boring main character. Make sure she speaks Spanish every 3 works so you remember SHES LATINA AND SPICY BLAH" or "oh what about a hippy chick?? Let's make her a yoga instructor." it's just like ummm ok great imagination ya got there...

if only the stereotypes weren't the driving force
