After a long winter spent hunkering down in Wyoming, Bree, Nate, and the gang are back on the road. The harsh temperatures up in the northern regions might have decimated the undead scourge somewhat, but soon they have to face reality: it's not just zombies that are out there to hunt people down and kill them. For humanity to have a fighting chance to rebuild a semblance of civilization, everyone will have to work together - and resources are scarce. Someone will have to go out there and face the danger - and maybe find out what happened to the undead that were smart enough to flee the cold. Only the strong and smart have survived, making everyday life just a little more deadly for everyone.

ignore what the boys say about an impossible female lead... she has a backup of 12 mercenary strong...what person wouldn't kick some zombie ass?!?

Would you consider the audio edition of Escalation to be better than the print version?

Yes. Reader really good for main character and does a great job with guy voices

What other book might you compare Escalation to and why?

Super series! Really enjoy this author's works. Except. Bisexual lead character getting old. Author stuck this in maybe to titillate but it's a turn off IMO. Still 5 stars though for overall unique story.

It's a fun series. The main characters lab experience is well researched. I can't wait for the next book.

Amazing story even after 10+reads

When I first started reading this series I never thought it would be this great. have loved it every time I have re-read and re-listened to it. Highly recommended.
