my bad. There are a couple flashes of what I thought was brilliant writing but all and all it was just okay. it really did take a long time to get rolling, I almost bailed but I'm glad I didn't

I would recommend many other books over it, including My Sisters Grave by this author.

Cronin's voice is clear and changes slightly to reflect each characters voice in a gentle way.

The subject matter is too tired.

This book didn't grab ahold of me as much as My Sister's Grave.Tired subject matter (the crooked cop plot again?) and it's difficult to care about the characters (everyone is just "okay" not people you want to spend time with, a sharp contract to MSG (you care about uncovering the mystery AND the characters). To end on a positive note, this novel is set in the late 1980's and that added a frosting to the story.

Excellent Crime Novel

I simply loved it. It had me at the edge of my seat. When I tried to listen to it for bed time, it was a mistake. I stood up all night wanting to know more. This novel has a bit of everythin. Love, horror, depression, lust, hate, anger,friendship, trust, honor and strength. You learn to like all the characters : even the evil ones. The narrator is amazing. I want to find other books he has narrated.

Great story!

I really liked this book! I prefer the Tracy Crosswhite series from Dugoni, but this stand alone book was a great effort by him. There were a lot of tones of Grisham in this book. Maybe not quite the involved plot line like Grisham puts in his stories, but this book basically was a fantastic legal thriller. Great characters, and the story kept me involved and interested throughout! Great narration made for a great experience!
