Three years have passed since the Jamaicans caused the apocalypse, and things in post-Armageddon Chicago have settled into a new kind of normal. Unfortunately, that "normal" includes collapsing skyscrapers, bands of bloodthirsty maniacs, and a dwindling cache of survival supplies. After watching his family, friends, and most of the non-sadistic elements of society crumble around him, Patrick decides it's time to cross one last item off his bucket list. He's going to Disney World.

This hilarious, heartfelt, gut-wrenching odyssey through post-apocalyptic America is a pilgrimage peppered with peril, as fellow survivors Patrick and Ben encounter a slew of odd characters, from zombie politicians and deranged survivalists to a milky-eyed oracle who doesn't have a lot of good news. Plus, it looks like Patrick may be hiding the real reason for their mission to the Magic Kingdom.

I loved the book and will start the next one immediately. I’m not big on apocalypse story but the blurb about it sold me and I’m glad it did

My favorite apocalypse story

I love this book. And you cannot beat the performance by the narrator. It’s an irreverent, funny, witty book with awesome “end of the world with a smack of Monty python” humor, and in the end I have wound up listening to it over and over because the friendship is so snarky, goofy, bickering and absolutely true that it makes me happy every time.
Ps- technically I’m a middle aged woman- for what that’s worth. But I listen like a 13 yr old geek :)

One of my favorite books ever

it is a B version of a Post Apocalyptic, Monty Python-esq, Planes Trains & Automobiles type buddy Odyssey.

good b movie

Loved it. The wackiness is well balanced with a true friendship and deep seated emotion. I will never look at a Butterscotch Snack pack the same way again.

Crazy in the chaos

I've bought the first two books twice on audio format, I lost the first two...cause thanks "GoOgLe BoOkS". Ive also bought all four books in the series in physical form from the author and I hope you do as well. When I originally read this one, it was a welcome distraction during a particularly tough time in my life. The characters reminded me of buddy cop movies I loved as a child and the situations they fell into were reminiscent of cartoon protagonists from the same said timeframe in my life (minus the death and dystopia). I cant wait to re-listen to the second book.

Original, funny, and oddly heartwarming
