How hard do you have to shake the family tree to find the truth about the past?

Fifteen year-old Rae Kerrigan never really knew her family's history. Her mother and father died when she was young and it is only when she accepts a scholarship to the prestigious Guilder Boarding School in England that a mysterious family secret is revealed.

As Rae struggles with new friends, a new school and a star-struck forbidden love, she must also face the ultimate challenge: receive a tattoo on her 16th birthday with specific powers that may bind her to an unspeakable darkness. It's up to Rae to undo the dark evil in her family's past and have a ray of hope for her future.

I enjoyed this book from the first book to the sixth book. Rae grows so much from book one to book six and I can't wait to see how she keeps growing as the book moves forward. I felt like I had an idea how things would go and then something new would happen that would leave me being like, oh wow, I need more.

Loved it!!!

I love the chronicles of Kerrigan. All the books are awesome. There’s so much suspense in each book.

Whats not to love?

The Chronicles of Kerrigan is an entertaining YA and adult fantasy series that, while centered around a magical school, feels more like Twilight than Harry Potter. There are some inconsistencies in the series and there were times when the characters annoyed me, but overall it is a good series, and the narrator does a good job.

This box set is a great deal with 30+ hours of listening time, but there are still more books to come in the series, so it is not complete.

I received a copy of the box set as a gift. This is my honest and voluntary review.

An entertaining magical high school romance and adventure series

Book 1: Rae of Hope
My suggestion is to read the prequel series before reading or listening to this series, it will make a whole lot more sense.
The daughter of two tutu parents , Rae Kerrigan is attending a new school, but it by the school's invitation. Rae, however, knows nothing about the school, her parents association with it, prior to the deaths, 10 years prior. In fact she knows nothing about tatus, the ink that appears on those who turn 16 from the inked lineage families.
Rae is in for shocking term!

Book 2: Dark Nebula

Rea's 2nd year at school in England, with a new headmaster (her secret boyfriend's father). There are a couple of new students, and still a lot of undercurrent due to Rea's father's recording.
This is a high octane story, with lots of banter between students and the sinister feeling that all is never as it appears. It appears that Simon Kerrigan is still affecting the world, long after he apparently left the mortal realm.

Book 3: House of Cards
I am throughly enjoying this series.
I do find that for clever people the characters seem to forget or overlook a lot of information.
plus, a sibling turns up within Guilder, and no one knows his ability!!

Book 4: Royal Tea:
For a society created by the king in Tudor time, the Royals seem to have v forgotten their ties and why the society was formed.
This is a dramatic episode, with the Royal family being caught in the crossfire of those with ink against those that have been put in place to prevent tutus from taking the thrown.

Book 5: Under Fire

I listened to the audio rendition of this book.
With the idea that her mother could not be harmed by fire, Rea is hell bent on finding her.
Unfortunately, Luke is caught in the crossfire, but the information he still holds helps.
A very dramatic episode, one where we find a whole lot more about those around Rae and their motivations.

Book 6: End in Sight

Again we are faced with how to deal with a traitor, but Rae's solution does not sit well with all her companions.
Information lost is found and the final piece of the puzzle is solved. However, first is the examinations for final graduation and the ceremony itself.
A more sedate episode but progress is being made to find the master mind.

Fantastic series

W. J. May does it again and again. This is by one author that I know I will never be disappointed with any of the books I listen to or read. Rae is a character that you become invested in by the end of the first book. Very well written story with great supporting characters. The narrator did a great job in creating different voices for the characters making the story really come to life. This is just the beginning. Well worth listening to no matter what.

Fantastic Story!
