Fell deep into this set and it kept me. I will be looking or more by this author.

Engrossing

I love long series however I had a hard time finishing this series! The narrator sounds angry and very annoying. I had to adjust the volume to offset the captains snarky barking at everyone. The characters and story were good. Several of the books had fair narrations however others were hard to listen to.
I hope the Peyton Brooks’ FBI series are not narrated the same way.

Good Story Awful Narrator!

I really like the overall story. It bothers me how much unnecessary emphasis is placed on Peyton’s love life and her bad decisions but it all fits into the overall plot so I guess it’s okay. It’s also odd how these detectives act like they don’t understand technology even though they’re within the proper age range to be very familiar with tech. 😂 almost like the author is much older than her characters and doesn’t want to write about stuff she doesn’t understand herself but didn’t realize that it doesn’t make sense for the characters.

Also the narration in the first book is absolutely AWFUL but it gets better in the subsequent books (not amazing but definitely tolerable)

Good but with plot holes

The narrator yells her narration except when characters are conversing with each other. Then it is sometimes difficult to hear what is being said. However, if you increase the volume, you are blasted once the conversation ends. Very off-putting!

Performance is inconsistent
