Such complexity and brilliance🤯

I've been a big fan of this show for a while and long ago have listened to the last 4 books in anticipation of the final season of the show to release. Just recently (in a deep pit of sorrow that the shows final season has concluded), I was relistening to the last 3 books and decided I'd listen to the whole series while waiting for memorys legion to drop. Best decision I've made in a good long while. I've been well aware of the writing duo James S. A. Corey's brilliance since my first viewing of the first episode of the first season of the expanse and multiplied a hundred fold after listening to the books. This just reinforces that viewpoint. The depth and intricate design of the plot (and whole universe for that matter) takes a mind and imagination that I will never be able to grasp or understand. The complexities and DEPTH of EACH and every character is astounding. Not to mention the realistic worldly take on an extra terrestrial artifact and what comes there after is not only entertaining but mind bogglingly plausible and almost makes me nervous for our future generations once space travel is the norm (if we ever make it to that point🤞). All of this to say that God I am sooo glad i decided to go thru the whole series here on audible. Great choice. Id highly suggest you do the same🙃👍

Great start to this series

I'd heard really great things about this series. With a big trip to see family, this seemed like the perfect time to give it a try. Most of the book was pretty dull and it had a hard time keeping my interest. Surprisingly though I intend to listen to book 2 anyway because of what book 1 has going for it. Despite not caring for the majority of this long book, the beginning was compelling, the climax was well done, the world-building was phenomenal, the politics are interesting, the writing is very good and insightful, and the narration is perfect. With so many positives, I just have to give the author another chance and see what else he can do with this world.

My husband got interested in the Expanse TV series before I downloaded the audiobook. of course the book provides a richer experience than even a series of television can provide. But this book goes beyond a well-planned immersive sci-fi world. I found myself popping in the earbuds to get just a few more minutes of this exciting tale every chance I could! Of course I'm buying the whole series of audiobooks now!

I read over 100 novels a year. This series stand with the best of them. I have checked out the TV show but it didn't grab me. This books amazing.
