Overall a good book

True crime is a fairly new genre for me and I am discovering what I like and don’t like regarding these books. Overall this is a good, solid book. The author does a nice job sharing the horror and terror of the victims with compassion. She also was very thorough in exploring the perp from as early as 1/3 into the book. No other suspects were looked at, and the police investigation was minimal compared to the other True Crime books I’ve read. I find that I would have preferred more regarding the investigation. But I understand since this is “true crime” there probably wasn’t any more to have.

It took a while to get used to the reader's voice. Very interesting. I would recommend this highly.

Too descriptive?

Overall pretty good. The only thing I personally took issue with was the description of some of Woodfield’s attacks. I understand things need to be explained, but Rule took the word, “ejaculate” to places I never dreamed of. TMI, Ann. TMI...

The Many Ways I Miss Ann Rule

I am the quintessential fan of Ann Rule and each of her true-crime series. The I-5 Killer is one of her best. The combination of the late Ann Rule's writing and narration by Laural Merlington is superb. No one narrates as well as Laural Merlington. She is exquisite in her expert translation of the written word. There will never be another Ann Rule. I cherish each word.

Wow. Stunningly shocking.

The story is so horrifically sad. It’s hard to fathom human like this exist. The story is extremely graphic. More than a few times I said, “Jesus” out loud.
