One of the most tense, gripping thrillers you will ever read. From UK and US bestselling author Taylor Adams.

A KIDNAPPED LITTLE GIRL LOCKED IN A STRANGER'S VAN. NO HELP FOR MILES. WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Darby Thorne is a college student stranded by a blizzard at a highway rest stop in the middle of nowhere. She’s on the way home to see her sick mother. She’ll have to spend the night in the rest stop with four complete strangers. Then she stumbles across a little girl locked inside one of their parked cars.

There is no cell phone reception, no telephone, no way out because of the snow, and she doesn’t know which one of the other travelers is the kidnapper.

Who is the little girl? Why has she been taken? And how can Darby save her?

Full of shocking twists and turns, this beautifully written novel will have you on the edge of your seat.

So it was a good story and the narrator was great but good grief. You know those movies where you think it’s done, but suddenly something goes wrong, and when that’s done you think- ok now it’s done, but no, there’s more- literally about 500 more things. I finished it just because I wanted to know the very end but I did skip some after a while. So incredibly drawn out. Soooooooooooo drawn out.

Holy crap I thought it would never end

I really enjoyed this book all the way up until the ending. Great plot and character development and prolly woulda earned a 5 star review from me if it werent for all the unrealistic aggravating twists and turns it took, going well beyond the normal complexities of a storyline and well into the territoy of implausibility and not in a good way that you wana lean towards suspension of disbelief into just outrage.

okay....

I loved the write up about this book, and was excited to read it. However, I found that I started skipping chapters because it got too long and unrealistic. I think the book would’ve been far better if the plot was tightened up and it was more realistic. Great concept, overall the story was good, but became too unbearable and ridiculous towards the end.

This could have been so great

3.5 stars rounded down

The narrator spoke so slowly, I had to increase the speed just to get through the first chapter. After that, I just kept it at the increased speed to listen to it like a normal audiobook.

*SPOILER*
The story seemed a bit far fetched. The child is supposed to be 7?? Yet, she talks and acts like a 12 year old. There is a huge difference between 7 and 12 when it comes to speach, actions and comprehension no matter what the circumstances are, IMO. If they made the child older than 10, then I could understand her dialogue as being more believable.

Other than tha, the booknwas decent. I just feel 5 stars is a bit of a stretch.
