Detective Ethan Quinn has questions. The Arlington Slasher case is closed, the UNSUB no longer a threat - but Quinn can’t quiet the suspicion he harbors toward his partner and the young, attractive ME. Not only does he loathe his uncertainty, he’s torn between doing his job and protecting his team.

Burying himself in cases no longer works. He’s restless. On edge. And tired of fighting his compulsions. Quinn has always viewed the law in black and white. Only now his world is swirling with a murky gray that threatens to devour him.

When lead medical examiner Avery Johnson careens toward a dangerous path, she pulls the unwitting detective into a dark web of deception and lust, triggered by a spree of recent killings.

Is this new player linked to the Bathory murders, or is it another copycat?

Time almost took Avery from him once before. As the clock ticks, Quinn will stop at nothing to protect her, refusing to let Avery become a victim again. Against his uncompromising logic, Quinn can’t deny his feelings. Avery forces him to acknowledge his darker desires, tempting his control - which weakens with every second he spends with the feisty ME as they hunt down the perpetrator threatening to tear them apart.

I loved the entire series. Both books are phenomenal. I like the acting voices and the storyline keeps you going. They’re super steamy scenes

Fantastic series

if this is supposed to be fantasy romance then it's not bad,if it's meant to be a detective story with romantic interests, there are a lot of problems

not as good as the first book

I really liked the 1st book. This one had good some ideas for a story but it started to repeat things that happened in the 1st book. Someone in the PD is a leak again, Avery gets kidnapped for the 2nd time straight out of the police department again. after the description of Detective Quinn in the 1st book, I imagine him looking like an old school, creepy looking old guy cop. So in this book when Avery and Quinn get together it didn't feel like an attractive fit. I felt like neither character had much depth. They had next to no background. But I finished listening to it kept my interest. it was still worth the credit.

A bit repetitive

I always love Trisha’s books but the voices in the whole series 1-6 were great 🙌🖤

Loved the voices!

Trisha Wolfe is a wonderful author, absolutely brilliant! But the characters drive me insane! I loved Sadie and Colton but their dynamic was dearly missed this book . . . Quinn is sooo emotional and Avery is . . . You’ll see. I only finished this because the story itself was complex and riveting! The villain was NEFARIOUS! And I loved it! The plot line almost made up for how annoying and aggravating the main characters were. I actually wasn’t even interested in their love story.

Good listen but hard listen
