Meet Tombstone Jack!

When bounty hunter Jack Coltrane delivers his latest catch to the sheriff in El Paso, Jack is hoping to take a few days to relax and then collect his cash and hit the trail. But now the sheriff has been shot, and the Belton boys are on the run.

Jack sets out to catch them. But Marcus Tanner, the brother of a man Jack killed, is hot on Jack's trail and eager for vengeance.

If you love traditional Westerns with plenty of action, you're going to love Tombstone Jack.

I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This was a good short story western that had all of the details needed to have a nice story. At under two hours, it felt like the westerns we see on TV where everything is settled within that hour. Those are good and so was this. I am sure there are more to round out the characters in this first one. The narrator made the story come to life.

Good Western

A 5* Western

I really enjoyed this first short story in the Tombstone Jack series. It definitely reminded me of the old westerns I use to watch with my Gran. Jack Coltrane is a cool character; he is a fast drawing, unshakable bounty hunter with a strong sense of right and wrong. You get little hints of his past, that endear you to him and make you want to know about him. I also enjoyed Bert and his too big hat. The narrator suited the perfectly, he really brought the feel of the wild west to the story and the deep, calm voice he used for jack was perfect. It’s a great cowboy story with gun fights, bad guys and lots of action. I look forward to hearing more of Jack’s adventures.

Great Western

I love a good western. Westerns are great for a change of pace and cleansing the palate of all the zombie apocalypse and prepper survival debris cluttering your mind. Tombstone Jack leaves something to be desired. It’s a bit thin on the content side. As far as Jack goes, all I know about him is that he’s a bounty hunter. Now this is a short-short story, but it is the debut err…novel and I’d like to know a bit more about the main character. The narrator E.M. Carberry did a fine job and had a great voice for the hero. A bit lacking.
