How far would you go for family?

As Ben, Joel, Allie, and their dog, Gunner, continue their trek across the EMP-ravaged country, constant challenges face them at every turn.

The struggle to get through the post-apocalyptic wasteland in an effort to find Allie’s dad in Pittsburgh and reunite with Joel’s brother and sister in Maryland tests Ben’s abilities as a former Army Ranger.

But the teenagers have trials of their own, namely coming to terms with their lost youth as they are forced to grow up fast and make some tough decisions. As the group passes through one devastated town after another, it becomes apparent that only the strong and prepared will survive in these dangerous days.

From kidnappers to roadblocks, it seems it’s every man for himself in this dangerous new world. Are there any good people left, or is this dark road one they have to travel alone?

It’s great! Each book, not too long, no extra hoopla, just quick concise events that happen. It’s the best EMP series I’ve ever read. Don’t skip this book or this series.

Book three keeps things rolling

This is the third installment of what may consider a post-apocalyptic mini-series. There is some violence as would be expected.
Joel is in the driver's seat and the road ahead looks gruesome. What is the big brother supposed do cower and turn back or face this new reality head-on? There is so much truth about life and facing adversity throughout this series. I think parents and their teenagers should share the experience.
