He was one of the first things I saw when I woke up. He saved me. It's one of the things I'm able to retain day to day. His name is Adam. He's a paramedic.

When I saw him lying there in that wreck, I thought he was a goner. I've seen people die from so many things, even when I hoped and prayed that they would live.

I didn't do either one for him, yet there he is. It's just too bad he has no idea who he is or what happened to cause such a nightmare. I think some part of him does remember, though, because when you ask there's that hint of guilt in his eyes that doesn't quite go away.

I don't know what game he's playing, or if he's playing one at all. Our mystery man keeps my attention more than any other patient I've wheeled in before, that's for sure.

A second chance at life and love

This is a wonderful story about Adam and Reese. It's full of mystery and self discovery. A tragedy that turns into a blessing. Adam's in a car accident and Reese is the first responder. Somehow they find love for the future while dealing with the past.
Narrator Bump Turgeson does a wonderful job.

Sometimes not knowing is best

Adam had a severe accident and he almost did not survive. Luckily for him this accident happened right in front of an off duty paramedic, Reece, His accident was so bad he had been in the hospital for a long time and recently woke up from a coma. When he wakes up he sees a strange guy in the room and once he can talk again he asks his mom and she informs him that is was Reece the man that saved him.

Reece never ever follows up on his patients. He does not allow himself do fall into that hole for fear he will not come back. That was until Adam, He would just sit in his room to keep an eye on him, When Adam wakes up he then can not stop thinking of him all day long.

Adam has lost the last two years due to his brain injury. He barely recognizes his parents, forgot he had a child and does not remember his job or boss or coworkers. He also does not know one of his friends who is always around.

After visiting they make plans to meet up once he leaves the hospital. Reece is not even upset when Adam forgets to call him.

Can Reece and Adam make it work? Will Adam recover from his injuries? Will Adam regain his lost memories? Can they figure out who caused the accident and why?

Sweet love story and WIlliam (Billy) is very cute.

Good story, good pace and interesting well developed characters. I liked Reese's support of Adam as he regains his independence.

Bump Turgeson does a good job on the narration, Adam's vulnerability and emotions are all there adding to the audio experience.

When is a Mystery Not a Mystery?

...when you've lost all of your memories.

A horrific car wreck leaves Adam with life threatening injuries and no memories of the past two years of his life.

The tension, fear, and anxiety comes through in the written word. The complete vulnerability and loss of self shines with Bump Turgeson's masterful storytelling.

Okay Story

I didn't fall in love with the characters. The story was just okay about a guy losing his memory after a car accident and meeting a guy that falls head over heels for him. While the story was great, the narration was.... just okay. Overall, the book was okay but the narration could be better.
