Publisher's summary

Christian:

Being invited to my cousin’s wedding really shouldn’t be a big deal except, oh yeah, I haven't seen my family for a decade.

My parents turned their backs on me, and I’ve done everything since to become successful and show them what they've lost. Only it’s kinda hard to be a success when you’re a walking trainwreck.

So I’m going to fake it. Hire a guy with an online presence so impressive they’ll be desperate to welcome me back into the elitist fold, and roll into the wedding with the kind of confidence I’ve never felt a day in my life.

The plan’s a knockout.

Until my fake date cancels minutes before the ceremony.

Émile:

One letter from my dearly departed grandfather, and suddenly I’m on a husband hunt.

He’s reworked his entire will so I’m set to inherit far more than I'm entitled to, and all because he’s asked me to use that money for “good.”

In order to get that inheritance though, there’s one stipulation: marriage.

Even with his request, I’m tempted to stick to my original plan of getting as far from my wretched family as possible, and letting them fight it out.

But then I run into a tall drink of scattered mess outside of a wedding who’s in desperate need of a date, and the pieces click into place.

I help him, he helps me.

Marriage, money, then go our separate ways.

Easy.

Now all I have to do is stop myself from actually falling for the guy.

Funny and heart warming

I love when my cheeks hurt from smiling so much by the end of a title...While I wasn't expecting to be wowed by the "The Husband Hoax" I was surprised to find out how much I truly enjoyed this...Christian's clumsy antics aside. I gave it a shot because I am a huge fan of James Joseph (and his other aliases) and Teddy Hamilton and I am glad I did.

4 stars - worthy of a repeat listen

Cute story

I’d listen just for the two narrators. I love Teddy Hamilton and my new favorite that I love is James Joseph. He’s an incredible narrator. Sweet and sexy story.

Funny, sweet, sexy & new twist

I don't actually know where to start :) there's so many good things

This story is a refreshing twist on the "fake relationship trope" - where in most fake relationships they resist the urge to act on attraction out of denial or avoidance - Christian & Emile totally like each other, they are open and communicate with one another .. and their attraction is out in the open . I don't want to ruin the story so I will stop here. I am here for it. I was skeptical coming into the story b/c I haven't loved the author's last few books. This book does have a shade of the slightly outlandish premises but they are reigned in which allows her humor, wit and GREAT writing to shine through. Both MC's are are charming , funny and loving and although I have a hard time believing anyone is as clutzy as Christian- I couldn't help but just go with it and love him

Teddy is amazing as ALWAYS and is perfect for Christian. James Joseph is not usually a fav of mine (for reasons) but in this story .. oof he shines! He definitely has more cadence than he usually offers to a story but the NAIL on head is his American Accent . Now, I'm not sure if he just practiced and American accent or decided to imitate Teddy - but he NAILED IT .

love love love this book

Fresh take on a favorite trope

There is nothing better than a well written story. This one is at the top of my favorites. Matt was spot on and added such lovely dimension to the characters. I will be reading more by Saxon James, and continue to look for books narrated by Teddy Hamilton and James Joseph.

Great story/ Great narration

I love Saxon James and I highly recommend this story. It has more villains than I’m use to from her novels. But once the couple starts working together… the payoff is worth it. Narrators are good too, and I love accents- keeps the characters distinct as the story is told.
