A new UF with all kinds of supes

For a first book, the author laid an excellent foundation while keeping the pace of the story fast.
Alexis was a great heroine who had a big heart but firm grasp on surviving. Her two wards Daisy and Mordecai were just as entertaining.
I’m still torn about the hero because he has his own agenda and motives but he has shown kindness, so I’m giving him room to win me over.
The narrator was just gold and the plot was really intriguing. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this story.

Slow start, but don’t give up

The first chapter felt slow and somewhat confusing. I’m not, and never have been, the type to go nuts over a handbag or shoes or brand names of anything really so I didn’t feel connected or intrigued at all to start with. It quickly picks up in the second and third chapters and, before long, the story sweeps you up and flings you into it so deep that you don’t even realize you’ve passed chapter 20! He is steamy and brooding and she’s defiant and resistant to his attentions, but it still has a natural feel to it. This author is not afraid of jumping right in when it comes to the sexual side of things. No hinting at words you “shouldn’t say” or that might be improper so if you’re squeamish about anything sexual, this either isn’t the series for you, or it is the perfect series for you because it will break those barriers for you. Also, the ending has a complete enough feel to it that you won’t feel like you’re dying waiting for the next book. There are obvious threads of continued story there, but not a cliffhanger type feel. Very nicely wrapped up ending.

Enjoyable and magical

Funny, smart, irreverent, heartwarming are all good words to describe Sin & Chocolate. Despite leaving me with the impression that some aspect of the story was missing from book one, I’m anxious to see if book two delivers.

Couldn't have been more surprising!✨

When the story began, I didn't this this story was for me. Only a couple chapters in, I was glad I pushed through. This story was full of surprise, humor (LOL humor), desire, and anticipation. I can't wait to start the next chapter. So glad I took a chance on this book.
