Loved the story and the narrator

I normally prefer to read a book before I will listen to the audio book but I decided to dive into this first and I'm so happy I did. The narrator was perfect for Aiden and he really brought the story to life!

Overall I loved the plot of the story and the chemistry between the two main characters. Watching their dynamic change from strangers to kidnapper/kidnapped to eventual lovers was so intense and I was completely engrossed in the story. The author layered the perfect amount of intrigue/secrets throughout the story. The build up to a shocking ending had me scrambling to start book 2!

I highly recommend this one!

Really excellent start to a series!

I really enjoyed this book! infact I finished it in less than a day. I thought the narration was great for so single narration but I couldn't help wishing it was duo narration. Thay is just me nitpicking though. This is a dark romance with some BDS themes. Really big gripe though is at this point only book 1 is on audiobook😩😭 I can't wait until the next book comes!

Deliciously Dark

Sarah Bailey has composed a quality story, it's utterly engaging. Betrayal, the first book in the Corrupt Empire Series, is a well-written dark romance. The plot is complex and intense, loaded with suspense, murder, mystery, drama, intrigue, betrayal, and passion. The dark elements are deliciously twisted, you do your best to wrap your mind around it; I absolutely loved it. Aiden and Avery's characters are well-developed, believable, and compelling. Their journey is a roller coaster, leaving you feeling many emotions.

Incredible narration by Hugh Carter. He captures the characters' personalities and the depth of their emotions, bringing them to life. I thoroughly enjoyed his performance, and I'm eagerly anticipating the next book in the series. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
