Publisher's summary

This is book two in the Aces High MC - Charleston Series and this is a series that should be listened to in order.

Lucy

I fell in love with Charles “Double-D” Brothers when I was just 16 years old. He was 19 and had just patched into the Aces High MC in Charleston, SC. The falling in love part didn’t matter though, because our life - our love - wasn’t destined to be an easy one. Then again, nothing worth having ever is. In the beginning - I was too young, he was too wild, and my family was able to send me away to keep us apart. Later, when I was 20 and he was 23 our paths crossed again. This time he was the one ready for me, but I wasn’t quite there yet. I allowed the club whores and rumors to drive me away, and then I let my pride and more lies keep me away despite the secret I took with me.

Double-D

The perfect woman was out there waiting for me to find her - again. Twice I’d lost her now, and twice it had been avoidable. It’s a damn shame that life had a nasty habit of screwing me over because we were far from done with the roller coaster we’d been on so far. It didn’t matter though. The ride could keep on getting bumpier, and I’d never jump off. She was worth every single thing I had to endure just to feel her in my arms at the end of the day. If only I could keep her from running again...

This is not an insta-love story. It’s the story of a lifetime.

As with The Other Princes (Aces High MC - Charleston, Book 1) this is a different book in the MC Romance sub-genre. It deals heavily with internal family issues and less with outside club vs club drama.

Great Story

This is Lucy’s and CJ’s story. Starts when they first met at 16 (Lucy) and 19 (CJ). Takes you through their trials and tribulations. This is an excellent and heart wrenching story. Worth the read/listen.

Outstanding Story & Narration🎧Heartfelt & Amazing!

I was not sure how Christine Michelle was going to top the 1st book in her “Aces High MC” series, “The Other Princess” which I loved but she did and I loved this one just as much, if not more than that one. She penned another beautiful, captivating story that grabs your heart and takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride. The first book was Ever’s story, this book is CJ aka “Double-D” and Lucy’s story, her Dad and Step-Mom, who we met in the first book. Their story is a great one, a great love, it was not always easy for them, there were struggles from the start, obstacles and barriers came between them and kept them apart. But they were definitely meant to be and the chemistry between them is undeniable, but can that be enough for then. I loved how their story plays out, it is well plotted and it has a natural flow to it. The authors descriptive writing is amazing, she brings you into the story, right along side the characters, so you can see and feel what they do. There is never a dull moment in this book, there is plenty of drama, personal, family and club, as well as angst, heartbreaking moments, heartfelt ones and some hot romance. It was great to see more of the club dynamics as well as their family dynamics. Christine Michelle, thank you for another amazing story, I am loving this series, the characters and their stories. hope the rest of the series comes to audio soon.

Sarah Puckett and Michael Norman Johnson are fantastic narrators and voice artists. They bring the characters to life giving each their own voice and personality as well as heart and attitude. Their portrayal of the characters is spot on, they truly grasped their persona captured all their emotions and projected it into their performance. They sounded as I pictured them to, Sarah’s Lucy and Michael’s CJ was amazing. They are entertaining storytellers, you could hear how much heart they put into their work, it enhances the story to another level of greatness. Thank you for this great listen🎧.

Emotional!

This is the second book of the Aces High MC - Charleston Series. You have to listen to this Series in order. Double-D (CJ) and Lucy's story is emotional and beautiful. There's a lot going on in this story: drama, jealousy, family issues, motorcycle club issues, misunderstandings, lies, secrets, and heartbreaking scenes. We follow Lucy and CJ in their emotional lifetime journey in the MC club, as a couple, and after that as parents of Tobby, Ever, and Anna. They share a strong and undeniable chemistry. Their love story is solid, and forever. Lucy is a wonderful strong woman. CJ is handsome, caring and protective. I am glad the author given us their full story. In fact, I found it interesting to have their story, after Ever's story. Sarah Puckett and Michael Norman Johnson did an amazing job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, The Princess and the Prospect, Anna's story.

Heartbreaking Love Story

Enjoyed the second book as much as the first. Such a roller coaster of emotions. Very happy to see they finally got their HEA after their tragic loss. Great narrators.

This is one of my favorite MC romance series. Gives such emotion. Performance was A++! not boring, kept me interested without getting bored. I have read the print version as well. Sad to say the whole series isn't available on audio.

3.75 STARS

Book two in the series but kind of wished it was book one. There are a lot of time jumps since the story spans 30 years or so. I think this would have been a great duet about the couple since it took so many years for them to finally get to a good place. As stated in the blurb this deals with more family issues then club vs club. There is OW/OM drama like in other MC books though. Sometimes the drama was a little OTT but overall I have enjoyed the series so far.

Narration was 4 stars! Both narrators really portrayed the characters well and I was able to get lost in the story.

ALL THE STARS IN THE GALAXY!!

This is now HANDS DOWN one of my all time favorite series to date. Definitely up in my top 5 favorite MC series! I cannot praise this series enough, not to even mention the author! This series is soooo emotional, and sooo real, I really started experiencing a lot of different emotions. It isn't often that a book will really draw me in emotionally and hit those "so called" feels, but this series does. Is it a light read? Ohh, definitely not. By any means. But it really makes you think... I seriously don't know what else to say. This series is EVERYTHING.

Lucy and DD

Phew this one takes you through it. You get like 30 years of life throwing curveballs and it feels so real. You just take the emotional roller coaster with these characters. This isn’t your typical and now they love happily ever after. It’s real and raw and really reminds you love isn’t easy and takes work.

Sarah and Michael are phenomenal and keep you completely engaged in the story.

Grab some white claw and tissues and settle in you’ll be glad you did.
