I can not say enough about how much I enjoyed this book. I was really looking forward to Vaughn’s story and it did not disappoint. And the narrators were so perfect. And to ha e Christian Rummel back was a wonderful bonus. Listen to this book and all of LJ Shen’s books you will not be disappointed.

I have been waiting for Vaughn’s story since I read “Broken Knight”. There was something about him that made me wonder why he was so angry and this book lets the reader have insight as to why he hates the world. Even though he acts like he doesn’t care about anyone, he is very loyal to his friends. I admired that about him in the two previous books.

The love story between him and Lenore was so painstakingly beautiful. The tragedy that they both had to endure set the stage for an understanding and complicated love story. You could not help to hope for this couple.

I do think the overuse of profanity was unnecessary, but I understand why it was used during some of the circumstances.

The performances from all the narrators were superb! They made a story that was already great remarkable. I will definitely listen to this again.
