I understand this is in journal form, but the abrupt jump in timeline of events is somewhat difficult to follow. The most grating part were all the *Acks* Maddie uses when narrating. I know that in written form it may not be as bothersome, but goodness it was jarring and annoying by the end.

This book was light on romance and heavy on building a plot foundation. The story is interesting and Kristen Ashley has written all over the romance spectrum so I'm interested in what happens in book 2!

I love Kristen and I normally don’t read “supernatural” or “fantasy” whatever it’s classified books, but it’s a KA book so it must be good and, or, a fun, read. so of course I had to try it and I’m so glad I did, lots of surprises and twists and turns yay KA I can’t wait to start the sequel. The two love interests are amazing, I want them both! And Matilda is a fun smart relatable heroine.
