What if you knew the day of your death?

Eleven years ago today, Bette and Crystal’s mother died. The sisters observe the day each year with a visit to her grave followed by dinner.

As Bette stands in the forlorn cemetery, large oaks watching in silent contemplation, Crystal does not arrive.

Flummoxed, though it’s too early to panic, Bette embarks on the usual calls and stops in search of her free-spirited sister.

However, minutes soon turn into hours, and hours turn into days.

As more secrets pour from Crystal’s life, it becomes clear that she sensed the sinister destiny awaiting her.

Step into a story of the missing, the murdered, and the people who carry their secrets to the grave.

Don't miss the sixth book in the Northern Michigan Asylum Series. All of the Northern Michigan Asylum novels are stand-alone stories that weave together paranormal mysteries, murder, and a sinister asylum for the insane.

This narrator is so bad, I can't believe anyone would hire her to read their book. AI narrators are better. She's miserably slow, the intonation is completely off, the characters aren't differentiated. At one point she pronounces "meager" as "me - A - grrr". I almost quit listening 5 minutes in, but speeding it up to 1.3X made it bearable. I'm glad I didn't give up because the story line is good, and the next book (which is great, with an awesome narrator) refers back to this story and its character.

Worst narrator ever, but good story

I really enjoy this series. The stories are good, different and yet interwoven. Unfortunately this narrator and the narrator from book #2 are enough to make you stop listening.

2 Strikes for this series

This is probably the best of all her books. I loved the characters and the narration

All of it

I'm not even halfway thru this book and been trying to work thru it. I have listened to better books from this author but this one is OK. like these authors now a days have a drag an issue in these books which to me puts a damper on the story. plus Crystal is so sickening and that professor is even worse. the story is ok but like I said I've listened to better. the narrator was so so. sounds like she struggling to breathe. I don't like to bash books but I am trying to be honest. I am going to finish this book because I want to give it a chance.

I listened to the rest of the book and admit it was good. and I got used to the narrator. she sort of grew on me. I know it's best to finish the whole book before critiquing it.
