The first time Cassio meets his fiancée, she calls him “sir.” After losing his wife, Cassio is left to take care of two small children while trying to establish his rule over Philadelphia. Now he needs a mother for his children and someone who can warm his bed at night. But in a world as traditional as his, choosing your wife is duty not pleasure.

Rules have to be followed, traditions heeded. That’s how he ends up with a woman - a girl - barely of age. She may not be what he and his children need, but she’s lovely and a sweet temptation he can’t resist.

Giulia has always known she’ll marry the man her father chose for her, but she never expects to be given to someone so much older. Suddenly she’s supposed to be a mother to two small children when she hasn’t even held a baby before.

Giulia quickly realizes that Cassio isn’t interested in a relationship on equal footing. Her mother has warned her that men of power, like Cassio, don’t tolerate insolence. Tired of being treated as a nanny, Giulia decides to fight for her version of a happy family.

Story line was excellent, plot was well played out. The male narrator almost sounded robotic at times so that threw me off. But overall 10/10 would recommend!

I was on the fence going into this book , since Guilia and Cassio aren't really featured in the previous books. I loved the support she offered Kiarra, in the Twisted series. However I was still worried I wouldn't be able to connect with them. Needless to say I was wrong! I LOVED this book. Never wanting to put it down. And it didn't take long for Guilia to become my favorite character throughout the series. She handled every challenge she was faced with head on. Nothing was going to stop her from being happy. She embraced Cassio and looked below the surface. Staying true to herself and not allowing the "it's a man's world" attitude change her. When she stood up to Luca I was literally fangirling and cheering her on. The age gap was was handled tastefully to a degree, I did frown a few times when it was feticized, but felt it was acknowledged several times through the book that it was definitely a family tradition and not "normal". Guilia fell in love first but Cassio definitely fell harder. His character development I believe was one of the best throughout this world. Their spicy scenes and chemistry made me clench my pearls and fan myself. The whole book was a whirlwind, and the plot twists were chef's kiss. When I got to the end, I honestly considered starting it over on the spot. I love this couple and hope they will appear more often. Guilia and Cassio forever!!!

The story and characters felt incredibly realistic, which made it easy to get emotionally invested. The only thing I didn’t care for was the age gap, but the satisfying HEA made up for it. I just wish there had been a bit more insight into the future of the kids—seeing how their lives unfold would have added an extra layer of closure.
