מענינים המיוחדים של ר"ח ניסן: 1) מה שמפורש בקרא בפ' פקודי "בחודש הראשון בשנה השנית באחד לחודש הוקם המשכן", והרי "מעשה ידי משה נצחיים", ועד"ז המשכן נגנז ויתגלה לעת"ל בשלימותו. 2) "הנשיא המקריב" ביום זה הי' נחשון בן עמינדב שע"י הי' הענין דקי"ס, שחייבים לזכור כל יום כמו יציאת מצרים. 3) ראש חודש (בכלל, ור"ח) ניסן ש"ראשון הוא לכל חדשי השנה". 4) בכלל: "אותו היום נטל עשר (ענין השלימות, ובאופן של) עטרות". 5) ראש השנה למלכי ישראל. ומכ"ז מובן ה"שטורעם" של יום זכאי זה במיוחד, ויש לנצל כל זה במעשה בפועל ש"הוא העיקר".

Some of the unique aspects of Rosh Chodesh Nissan include: (1) As the verse states in Parashas Pekudei: “In the first month of the second year, on the first of the month, the Mishkan was erected.” And since “Moshe’s handiwork is eternal,” the Mishkan was hidden away, and it will be revealed in the future in its entirety. (2) The Nasi who brought the offering on this day was Nachshon ben Aminadav, who caused the Splitting of the Sea of Reeds, which we are obligated to remember every day, just like the Exodus from Egypt. (3) It is the head of the month of Nissan, which is “the first of the months of the year.” (4) In general, “That day took ten crowns,” which represents completeness. (5) It is the Rosh Hashanah for Jewish kings. From all this we can understand the greatness of this uniquely meritorious day – and it should be utilized in actual deed, “Action is the main thing.”

עבודת התפלה, התחלת וסיום עבודת היום, היא במקום הקרבנות – "תפלות כנגד תמידין תקנום", תמיד של שחר ושל בין הערביים וכו'. וכאן רואים דבר פלא: בעבודת הקרבנות הי' חלק מסויים שנעשה ע"י הכהנים, חלק שנעשה ע"י הלויים וחלק שנעשה ע"י ישראל ("כהנים בעבודתם לויים בדוכנם וישראל במעמדם"), משא"כ בתפלה לא תקנו כנה"ג שהכהנים יאמרו תפלה מיוחדת שתהי' כנגד העבודה שנעשה ע"י, ועד"ז לויים וישראל, אלא תיקנו נוסח שווה לכל בנ"י! והיינו "קלקלתנו זוהי תקנתנו": ה"קלקלה" שאין ביהמ"ק קיים הביאה שכאו"א, ולא רק כהן, יוכל לפעול בעצמו ע"י תפלתו את עבודת הקרבנות! (כי מה שפועלים היום ע"י עבודת התפלה היא רק עבודת הקרבנות ברוחניות, וזה יכול להיות ע"י כ"א).

Although tefillah was instituted in the place of the tamid offerings, we find that unlike the korbanos, where there is a part performed by the Kohanim, a part performed by the Levi’im, and a part performed the Yisraelim, in tefillah the Anshei Knesses Hagedolah instituted one uniform text for all Jews. Thus: “Their problem is their solution:” Because the Beis Hamikdash is no longer standing, every Jew, not just a Kohen, can now accomplish through his own tefillah what used to be achieved through the korbanos (because today we accomplish only the spiritual equivalent of the korbanos, which can be done by anyone).

הוראה ממ"ש בגמ' "כל מקום שגלו שכינה עמהן": מי שטוען שהוא "מוותר" על העבודה לזרז הגאולה רגע א' קודם... - אחרי יותר מ-1900 שנה בגלות שיתנו לו "לנוח" וליהנות עוד קצת מהרחבות בארה"ב ולהרוויח עוד כמה דולרים..., וכששואלים אותו: 'לשם מה הנך צריך כ"כ כסף?', 'הרי אינך יכול לאכול או להתלבש בלבושים יותר משיעור מסויים!'... 'ולצדקה בין כך אתה לא נותן יותר'...?! הוא טוען שרוצה ליהנות מהתואר "גביר"... ומכיון שבימות המשיח לא יהי' חשיבות לכסף שיתנו לו ליהנות עוד קצת מכספו בגלות... - עליו לדעת שכ"ז שהוא נמצא בגלות ועוסק בדברים של מה-בכך נמצא שם גם ה'! ואם יש בו קצת אנושיות, ירחם על ה' ויוותר על שינתו העריבה ויעשה כל התלוי בו לזירוז הגאולה אפי' רגע א' קודם!

The Gemara says, “Every place they were exiled, the Shechinah was with them.” The lesson is as follows: A person may argue that after more than 1900 years in exile, he is willing to forego the task of bringing the Redemption a moment sooner, so that he can rest a bit more and enjoy the comforts of America and earn a few more dollars. (Even though there’s only so much money he needs, because there’s only so much he can eat and only so much he’s going to give to tzedakah, and even though the money isn’t going to have any value after Moshiach comes, this is what he wants – to be called a gvir.) But he must know that so long as he remains in exile, Hashem is in exile as well. And if he possesses even a bit of mentchlichkeit, he will have compassion on Hashem, forgo his sleep, and do everything in his power to make the Redemption come even a moment sooner.
