Relax with a meandering and mildly amusing story!

Aspiring supervillain Dr. Barry Puce seeks out inspiration for a new project.

Quick note: There are no ads once the story starts (usually around five minutes in), and none at the end.

I recommend that you turn off autoplay / clear the ‘up next’ bit of your podcast app to avoid anything loud coming on automatically!

Best way I’ve found to fall asleep

James’s voice and pacing, and the lovely boring-ness of his stories, put me to sleep in just a few minutes. I’m sad that the podcast seems to have ended, although multiple listens are possible because I never get more than a few minutes in before I’m sound asleep. I would pay a subscription fee to have more episodes though, if that would bring it back.

I loved this!

This was my first SleepPod episode; it hit me just right with the balance of silly and boring. I enjoyed it so much I quoted it to my children, and I carefully restarted it each night several nights in a row so I wouldn’t miss anything, but then I’d fall asleep before anything new happened and I’ve have to restart at the same place again….

My husband and I are always listening to fall asleep. Silly, fun and just boring enough. 😴 We wish there was more!

Better than melatonin

I don’t know why exactly, but these stories have just the right amount of whatever it is that they have to put me to sleep.

How does it end?

Without fail, I'm asleep before the end of any chapter. I've even listened to the chapters more than one. Please keep up the grand, meandering, and nonsense up!

Best Sleep Aid!

Heck yeah I struggle to finish! Isn't that the point? This PodCast, along with a bit of melatonin, is the only thing I have ever found that helps me get to sleep. The stories are amusing, and engaging enough to keep my mind from wandering and keeping me awake with incessant thoughts, but pointless and meandering enough that I don't feel the desire to stay awake to hear the ending or to find out what happens next. His voice is soothing, he talks slowly and sleepily, and the background music/sound is hypnotic and unobtrusive. I have listened to this podcast every night since I discovered it (maybe a couple months ago), and this lifelong insomniac is so grateful for it.

My Favourite Podcast

Absolutely love these sleepy stories. I often listen to them more than once as they seem to be the most effective sleep story. Please don't stop doing stories James

Commercials!?

Just what one wants in a story they're hoping will help them sleep is repeated obnoxious commercial interruptions. NOT!
