Incredible D/S Primer

This is an incredible primer on the world of D/S that is obviously deeply informed by wisdom, noticing, and listening to the experience of a wide variety of people. What I truly valued about this book was his choice to talk about how once might frame how to think about things instead of telling the reader what to think. This approach really allowed me to resonate with the parts of D/S that fit me and let go of the parts that don't instead of trying to adjust myself to a pre-determined model. He takes the reader on a journey to see D/S as a beautiful emotional journey into deep vulnerability and trust, and how one might foster and grow those traits within a connection.

New to this world, loved this book!

Absolutely recommend this book for anybody considering it.

I greatly appreciate this book's overall approach and look at various aspects of "Dominance". I found this book very informative, expansive, and nuanced. It not only has enriched my understanding and appreciation of many areas of dominance that I was already inherently interested in, but open my eyes to many others I was not aware of. Furthermore, it has helped me better understand some areas of D/s dynamics that I've had initial aversion to.

Beyond strictly the information contained within this book, I also very much appreciated the narration being from the author himself. Having worked through some other audible books with horrendous narration (*cough* Jay Wiseman's SM 101 *cough), I very much enjoyed listening to Anton Fulmen. Admittedly, while he may be a *tad* bit straight and dry from time to time, there were many more times I found the delivery and emphasis of his words to be very helpful in understanding the message. Overall I would give this a 8.5/10 for narration.

I have read a lot of books over the subject. This one is more of a first book recommendation. It gives you a good base to go off of with scenarios.

The HEART of Dominance

The Heart is ... consent, concensus, communication. This is an example of memorable prose that facilitate understanding and remembering. This is an excellent book for doms, subs (yep), switches, really everyone in the fetish community.

A must read.

I think this book does a great job at exploring the more unspoken subtleties in a D/s relationship that I didn't quite grasp or know how to put into words as someone newer to BDSM. It dives into more the emotional and deep desire that so far other books only lightly touch on. I've enjoyed other books but what the author has said really resonated.
