Publisher's summary

I’m not going to fall for a spoiled price.

Prince Ryden is as hot as he is off limits. I have no intention of sleeping with a client, especially not a royal client.

He’s got the weight of an entire kingdom on his shoulders, and he deserves to let loose for a bit. Maybe, I can show him a thing or two.

It can never be more than a fling.

A guy like Ryden wouldn’t want me forever anyway. His family will never approve.

My only job was to keep him safe. But now that I know how amazing he is, I want to keep him close for good.

---

Falling for my bodyguard would be a disaster. As prince of Cosandria, I have a duty to marry and produce heirs.
My bodyguard can never be my boyfriend.

But what about a fling?

I’ve never done anything with a guy before, no matter how much I’ve wanted to. When it comes to Ajax, I can’t resist.

He’s here to keep me safe, but it’s my heart that’s in danger. How can I keep him when I have a duty to my country?

And even if I find a way to come out, will he want to stay?

Protecting the Prince is a 70,000-word bodyguard/prince romance featuring an irreverent and protective bodyguard and the nerdy and spoiled prince he needs to keep safe.

Ajax and Ryden's Royal Love Story

Titan bodyguard Ajax is tasked with protecting Prince Ryden while he attends graduate school in the US. Ryden is still in the closet about his sexuality for fear of disappointing his parents, the king and queen. Both men know getting together is a bad idea, but will love still prevail?

‘Protecting the Prince’ is an entertaining forbidden-love story. Both main characters have engaging personalities. The scenes depicting Ajax and Ryden interacting as college roommates and classmates are cute. The angst is low-key except for a short spike at the end. Add in a smattering of well-placed sexy times and Lyda and Bates deliver a wholly satisfying HEA.

Austin Jay’s narration is great. He adds a great emotional touch to the story.

This voluntary opinion is written following my request for a free review copy audiobook of 'Protecting the Prince'.

the prince and the body guard!!

Ryden is a crown prince of a European country. He is closeted and doesn't want his family to find out he's gay. Ajax is his bodyguard. They have serious chemistry. I loved the banter between Ryden and Ajax!! This was seriously good story! Austin Jay did a fantastic job with the narrative!

This book is so hot and steamy, you will need a cold shower later. The story is well written and the narrator does an excellent job of bringing each character to life.

Great Book!

This was another great book by Aiden Bates and Ali Lyda. It is the second in the series but can easily be read as a standalone. I’m going to go back and pick up the first book. I liked that this book didn’t spoil it for me. Ajax and Ryden fall in love after Ajax is hired to be Ryden’s bodyguard. Their relationship is complicated by the fact that Ryden is a Prince and he is afraid to come out to his parents. Ryden’s father is injured and they must travel to back to his country, where their love is tested. Once everything is resolved they get a very satisfying HEA. This was my first time listening to this narrator. He did a good job. I received a copy of this audio from Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest opinion.

Excellent listen!

This was a great one to listen to! I didn't have it figured out who the villain was until they told us! It was the perfect listen while doing my work.

Protecting the Prince

Protecting the Prince is an enjoyable, a little angsty, story about Ajax and Prince Ryden. With the prince studying in the US, Ajax is assign as his bodygaurd. The two unlikely pair somehow end up falling for each other while Ajax attempts to keep Ryden safe. All is fun and games until Ryden has to go back to his country when an assassination is attempted on his father, the King. Ryden's parents want him to marry a nice woman and have an heir but Ryden doesn't want that and is afraid to tell his parents about himself. Ajax refuses to go back into the closet and resigns until something happens to make him reconsider. I think Ajax and Ryden are good for each other as long as they can live openly.
Narrator Austin Jay does a marvelous job.

Ryden and Ajax

Ryden, the prince and heir of Cosandria. Ajax is hired on to be his bodyguard, after Ryden’s last bodyguard quit not wanting to deal with Ryden and his pranks. They first met in the bookstore where Ryden works unbeknown to Ajax. When they meet again at Ajax’s first meeting with Ryden’s parents, he’s blown away that the prince was the young man at the bookstore. There’s no lack in adventure and action as the story kept me wanting to listen more than work lol. I highly recommend this series. Austin Jay did a great job narrating.

The Prince and the Bodyguard

Ajax works for Titan Security, Ryden is a prince and heir to the throne. Ajax is openly gay but Ryden is closeted and sees his future already decided for him, and gay can't be a thing. I really enjoyed how this story progressed. It wasn't rushed but when these guys finally admitted their feelings then there was no stopping them. The little bit of intrigue and mystery really added to the story. I really enjoyed the narration. Flowed well and suited the story. This is the second of the series that I have listened to and can't wait to hear the rest. Bring on the Titans!

Overall a good time!

So what could an out and proud body guard and a deep in the closet prince possibly have in common? Turns out a lot and Ajax is just the right person to reach Prince Ryden about himself. So can royalty have a HEA? This narrator and the incredible writing team of Austin and Ali have another slam dunk!
