Detective Colton Matthews has experienced a lot in the last 10 years. Promotions. Divorce. Single-dad life. His work life is as full of surprises as his home life.

But nothing prepared him for her.

Saying yes to the favor asked of the Cerberus MC was a no-brainer. He's a good guy helping other good guys. How hard would it be to allow Sophia, Dominic Anderson's daughter, to shadow him for a few months to complete a college credit and keep things professional?

The short answer...impossible.

Especially when his job puts her in danger.

Contains mature themes.

Another amazing novel. Loved the police addition to the motorcycle club series. Loved this book!

Colton and Sophia are the cutest couple

Nice to have a strong female that has places to go and chooses her path.
Good story, some surprises and excellent chemistry.

All the women of CBC are strong, Sophia is stronger than most and has options.

The last book was my least favorite of the whole series so thankfully this one was great! I'm fully invested in the Cereberus crew and can't get enough of their stories.

Colton is a detective (35) and Sophia is an intern/ride along (21)

I loved this book so much! Sophia was hysterical! I don't think I've laughed so hard at a charcter in one of Marie James' books. Her internal monologuing had me cracking up.

I usually don't like age gaps but Colton was an awesome man, who tried his very best to do the right thing. He didn't just jump in bed with Soph without thought and that was amazing. There was some push and pull between the two but it felt natural and not forced drama for the story. I fully appreciated that.

Even though the two had a major attraction to each other, they took their time and the heat between them was palpable. Colton knew he shouldn't persue her but his heart and body couldn't stay away.

Loved everything about this one including the side characters of Colton's parents and son.

Great!!

Male narrator’s voice is great. Female sounds 15. Very slow endlessly angst ridden story. I got tired of Sophia’s character. She seems more like a very immature teenager. Since this is a sexual story she doesn’t seem old enough for any kind of sexual relationship. Colton’s teenage son sounds more mature than she does. Age difference is ok but she’s too much mess and not enough strength. Tedious.

Soap opera moves slowly
