She explains how our habits, behaviors, and belief systems hold us back...and why it's time now to gradually disinvest. Including exercises used with teachers, NGO practitioners, and global changemakers, she offers us thought experiments that ask us to:

The complexity and challenges ahead

This book is a sobering read that I can identify with. Knowing that I am not alone in this thinking offers some comfort, although knowing that there are only two options is an uncomfortable truth. I am committed to doing what I can to avoid the ultimate destruction of human kind.

the most deliciously challenging read

every section was amazing and memorable. i will be referring to this text for quite some time

100% on the premise, 80% on the methodology

I don’t think there is any way for me to agree more with the premise of this book and much of the teachings. I would love to give it a five but sadly, there is just so much redundancy and repetition. One of the main ideas is that Western education is part of the problem, but then the Author goes on to sound extremely academic.

There were parts of this book that had me in tears and feeling so felt and seen, and other parts where I was rolling my eyes and thinking come on get on with it.
