For as far back as she can remember, Fatima Ward has been told that she would be a doctor. She has never challenged that path and secretly fulfills her love of telling stories online. While working on a fan fiction story using real-life rapper Jericho, she finds comfort in a new reader as her personal life implodes around her.

Jericho was born Jaren Young in Brooklyn, New York. Basketball was his first love, but an incident in college ripped that dream off from him. He turns to his gift of writing poetry and becomes one of hip-hop’s top emcees after just one album. While in the midst of working on his second album, he is introduced to an online story based on his life. After reaching out to the author to learn about her inspiration, the two anonymously connect on a level neither of them expected.

This was my first time reading anything by Ms. Little and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought most of the dialogue and the situations were realistic and mature and I appreciated that.

Regarding the Narrators....

Jakobi Diem can read ANYTHING and I will love his performance. Periodt! Someone else said that he could read the phone book and it would be fire. I damn sure agree. When I'm looking for something new I actually search by HIS name because his voice, tone and delivery are ALWAYS on point....

Now, the female narrator did not have the right tone for the book in my opinion. She wasnt terrible. And she did try to differentiate between characters, but her voice was high pitched, a bit whiny and the articulation just didn't match the main female character at all.

I don't know if authors fully appreciate the role of chemistry between two narrators, particularly in a romance/drama novel. Wesleigh S. and Jakobi are two narrators that independently are incredible at their craft... but when you put them TOGETHER their skill and chemistry enhances the aural experience. There is a reason why certain narration duos are frequently mentioned in the comments and reviews. When we see their names together the book becomes an automatic purchase for many of us.

I liked it!

This was quite a story. I am so excited that I purchased this book. This is my first book by this author and she didn’t disappoint. Great story line, characters, and supporting actors. I love the Tidewater VA references and of course the Ques (Coleman❤️💜 Love). Poor Que, he was young and dumb. I also the love the mention of therapy and how Fatima took control of mental health therapy. J was such a man respecting her. Both had some oral
Communication issues, but Danesha did an exquisite job tying it all together. The love story is nice and the sex is not vulgar as in other books. It was appropriate throughout. I was hesitant about the female narrator, but the story kept me listening. Jakobi is my my 💓fav male narrator because he can narrate solo or with any one - I just need to hear his voice if I am listening to someone who is not on his level. Get the 📚 book!

The storyline was well developed. I loved how the author provided context to why the main characters felt the way the did about love 💕. The narrators helped to paint a picture of this beautiful love story too!
