Every good hitter is fighting a battle.... Do you know what yours is and how to turn it to your advantage on the field?

Three out of every four appearances at the plate result in an out. You probably know this...so why are you doubting your skills?

Sound like a lot to handle?

If you love the game, it’s not so hard - you just need some expert guidance...and you’re about to get it.

In The Baseball Player’s Guide to Hitting Like a Pro, you’ll find a clear guide to improving your hitting technique, without focusing on mechanics alone. You’ll discover:

  • The seven key elements needed to build a strong foundation for good hitting
  • Why bench-time may not be such a bad thing - and how you can use it to your advantage
  • How to look beyond the field to improve your attitude (and why you should)
  • The reason why it isn’t just top hitters you should be learning from - and who you should be looking at instead
  • Swing fundamentals broken down into key elements - so you know exactly what it is you should be working on
  • Why confidence is just as problematic as self-doubt - and what you can do to mitigate it if you’re on a streak
  • The power of "Situational Spirit" - what it is, and how to harness its power
  • And much more

If you’ve fallen into a slump and you’re doubting your skills as a hitter, don’t despair. Even the top players have been there.... The difference is that they know a secret.

It won’t always be easy, but if you recognize that, you’re already halfway there: get ready to learn that secret, and watch your ranking improve - even when it feels like it never will.

My son is going into 3rd grade and I showed him this book and since then I can tell he is a much better hitter. It really emphasizes the fundamentals, which I think is great!

It contains a lot of information and techniques that apply to anyone, no matter how old (or young) you are. Narration is excellent as well—overall an awesome book. As a ballplayer, I love the helpful mindset

I will definitely re-listen to this multiple times throughout the upcoming season. Great information for ballplayers of all ages and experience level. This was a great reminder on how to re-think your approach to hitting, and ultimately, become a better baseball player.

Real life impact

This book is a hidden gem.

First, I read the paperback and then I ordered the audiobook.

Last season I was considering leaving my team and never going back to playing. I just couldn’t figure it out and while my team mates kept getting better I didn’t improve at all —maybe even got worse…

Now I know why. Roy helped me to unblock myself and I ended up cleanup hitter the same season.

If you are a parent hand this book to your kids. If you are a player treat this book like a bible.

the yips

the yips is what i call mental slumps in sports. and let me tell you, it is real! the yips are when you know how to do something and use to be able to do it and now for whatever reason you no longer can. Professional go to a sports psychologist, I came to this book. when i was no longer able to hit the ball in my mens league i knew i had to do something and this book turned out to be that, tackling not only the fundamentals of the swing but also the mental side. a great listen for anyone playing the game and also just fans of the game to understand what is actually going on when a player sends one yard!

Amazing!

This was a super helpful audiobook! I really enjoyed that it included not only physical tips and techniques, but also covered the mental aspect and dealing with a lack of confidence and even over-confidence. Looking forward to trying these out when I'm next in the cages!

Excellent tutorial young players

I love Mr. Lingster’s approach in this book. I wish I had these insights when I was young and playing. Now, I am much better equipped to help my grandsons as they learn and enjoy the game of baseball. The book very thoroughly covers the mechanical and mental aspects of hitting. Whether you are learning to bat for the first time, or trying to further develop and hone your skills, or even if you are an experienced, talented player trying to get out of a batting slump - there is something good here for you.

Great batting guide

This book focuses more on the mental state that a baseball player has to have when going up to bat. It does give a proper technique guide for beginners, but the focus remains on an experienced baseball players mental state. Great tips on what you should do if your batting average starts to experience a slump!
