Demon Accords, number 17.

Chris Gordon and Tanya Demidova are the world's top close quarters battle experts. As fast and powerful as elder vampires, with supernatural weapons that match their supernatural speed, strength, and senses. But how does a close quarters warrior fight an enemy that is literally light years away - 25,000 light years away?

It would take one hell of a ranged weapon, something that can cross unimaginable distances with unfathomable power. Something...or...someone. Hmm, but witch is best?

I love this series, I really do, but......this book was boring!!!! This should have been an optional story like a Book 6.5 or such. I love the characters but they need a worthy foe. Our favorite warlock has reached a level of godlike power, which is cool. Chris is simply amazing and my favorite character, as always, but they are wasted if they don't have a true struggle that test thier abilities. An invading force can be annihilated with a thought and, if not magiked away, Chris can chop them up pretty nicely. The next villain needs to be truly impressive as well as charismatic! Every personality in this book seemed very bland in comparison to previous installments of the series and I think that is because in those stories the characters were pushed to limit. I will define reading the next installment, but if that story lacks a villain that exceeds the heroes, then I'll be very disappointed.

Thor needs Loki. Batman needs the monsters of Gotham. Harry Dresden needs evil gods/fallen angels. heroes need villain that challenge and push them.

Lackluster

If you are here, then you found the first 16 books to be at least enjoyable. This book hits all the same notes. My main issue with this book, is the same issue I have with the whole series, I never really feal that the main characters are ever in any real jeopardy, and they all feel stupidly over powered. But dialog remains fun and easy to listen to.

Its Book 17 - If you like 1-16 You'll enjoy this

If you love Urban Fantasy this would be a top Series to add to your list. Fun Story line that seems to include all things fantasy and some sci fi that is blended into this enjoyable series. James Patrick Cronin will grow on you, and soon you will appreciate his Narration.

I just enjoy this series,

My only complaint is that it had to end! This book kind of like all the others in the series, is so much fun!

Well Written and Fun!

I agree with other reviewers that all this Declan-worship is getting old; it's so over-the-top that it's just bad writing. Still, it was an entertaining story.

Here's something that I've been wondering since the first book: Does the author get product-placement fees from equipment manufacturers? The author always insists on using brand names and model numbers when describing weaponry or survival gear.

Yes, too much fawning over Declan
