My first mistake? Causing the h-o-t Frenchman a concussion. My second? Telling the hospital staff that I was his girlfriend. In my defense, he didn’t speak English. My third? Taking him home and letting him sleep in my bed. I never said I was Florence Nightingale.

He gave me a night I’ll never forget, but when I wake, he’s already gone. I tell myself it’s his loss, that I wasn’t expecting him to stay forever anyway, and my life moves on. I get a new job. A fresh start in a new country, and I stop counting my mistakes. Until those striking green eyes meet mine across the office, and it all comes rushing back.

But he’s not that man anymore. Gone are his jeans and his playful attitude. Rich and powerful, he’s now sin in a suit. And his English is perfect. Were his kisses also lies? His caresses meaningless? I feel like such a fool - I want to wrap my hands around his neck. Though not to hug him, because the man is a force of nature. A master manipulator. He’s also my new boss. And I already hate him.

The biggest lies are the ones we tell ourselves.

The story is great, but I couldn’t get the image of Tootsie out of my head (or Jack Lemon from Some Like it Hot) when Remy was narrating Rose’s dialogue!

I enjoyed this book. The dual narration was very welcome and I found the voices easy and pleasing to listen to. The story was a combination of emotion, drama and humor. I liked Remy and Rose but did have a couple issues with them. In spite of that, this was a fun romance to listen to.

I only purchased this audible because I started reading this book and was so bored by how stereotypical the heroine, Rose, fell for Remy. It was predictable, plus the French accent was quite annoying at times. Not one of Donna’s best…The narration was good though.

Lair Lair did not hold up to the great expectation I had for it after reading Never say Forever. This book follows Rose and Remy's story, which I found weird that it came out AFTER Never Say Forever. THIS BOOK SHOULD BE READ BEFORE NEVER SAY FOREVER. You learn of alot of the backstories from characters you met in never say forever, which makes it alittle confusing in the beginning to keep track of the timeline. Until you realize Carson and Fee (from Never say Forever) are not really together that much in this one.
The narrators: John Lane and Lucy Rivers were not mindblowing amazing. They were both decent, but had minor flaws, mostly during the opposite sex narration roles.
No cliffys, standalone.
