S. D. Smith
Old Natalia, during the declining years of Whitson Mariner and the rise of tyrannical dragons and their master, Namoz Dragonking.
Rabbitkind faces extinction, and Prince Lander must follow his aging father to the last desperate edge of hope. A possible future is glimpsed dimly through a veil of darkness and death. This will not be a safe ending.
Blood calls. Oathbreakers attack. Allies fracture. Legends end.

For parents, know that this book is the most violent of the Old Natalia trilogy. Characters are shot, cleaved in two, overwhelmed, etc. There is also an element of dark sorcery and resurrection of a kind. Maybe look into it before your younger children. However, I think the overall themes of courage, friendship, loyalty, and good triumphing over evil, are solid themes for young minds to chew on.
For the author, I wish I knew more about the gap between books II and III of Old Natalia. How did Grimble escape the battle at the end of book II? Also, I would not begrudge a few more chapters detailing the entire gap between those books. In fact, should you feel so inspired, I know I could listen to an entire book about it. Dear Smith: we want more!
A heroic conclusion to a fantastic trilogy!
