After decades of unrequited love, this kangaroo will jump at the chance for a date. Any date.

Lovelorn kangaroo shifter Hamish Mulherne, drummer for the mega-hit rock band Hunter’s Moon, waited years for the band’s jaguar shifter bassist to notice him. Instead, she’s just gotten married and is in a thriving poly relationship. How is Hamish supposed to compete with that? But with everyone else in the band mated and revoltingly happy, he needs somebody. Since he can’t expect true love to strike twice, he signs up with Supernatural Selection. Because what the hell?

When Zeke Oz was placed at Supernatural Selection through the Sheol work-release program, he thought he was the luckiest demon alive. But when he seems responsible for several massive matchmaking errors, he’s put on notice: Find the perfect match for Hamish, or get booted back to Sheol for good. The only catch? He has to do it without the agency’s matchmaking spells, and Hamish simply will not engage.

But Zeke starts to believe that the reason all of Hamish’s dates fizzle is because nobody in the database is good enough for him. And Hamish realizes that his perfect match might be the cute demon who’s trying so hard to make him happy.

I started my E.J.Russell journey with the "Fae out of water" trilogy (in paperback), which I absolutely loved. It was so charming and fun to see/hear beloved familiar faces in the "Supernatural Selection" series, especially this last book - and all the perfect matches really grew on me as well, especially Zeke and Hamish. Greg Boudreaux is an absolutely fantastic narrator, and I'm amazed at how he managed to keep the menagerie of characters (especially at the end) distinct and recognizable. These six books have become "comfort food" for me, and I have no doubt I'll return to them whenever I need a good dose of magic, love, and happy endings in this complicated world.

A lovely end to the series!

An incredible conclusion to a wonderful series. I very much hope that this world will continue through new series. My only request is please please add epilogues about the characters! I’m always so glad to see previous characters and relationships in the new books, but just a quick epilogue would be lovely.

This is a note totally for the author! Anyone who hasn’t read these should. Totally worth the credit or purchase.

And always amazing narration.

So much fun!!

Like all the books in this series and by this author, it was a pleasure both in how it was written, and how it was produced. I cannot recommend this series enough!

A Wonderful Read

All sorts of things happen in this story- the plot is great, with mystery that isn’t blatantly obvious. Everyone loves sweet demon Zeke from the last two books in the series. He’s super sweet, competent, and not at all demon-like. Finding himself in charge of a gregarious kangaroo shifter’s perfect match is a total hoot! The story mixes a great plot with a sweet, accidental romance. The supe world gets thrown for a loop and there is a fantastic ending.

Great mystery and romance

What a well written, uplifting and thought provoking book. The performance of the narrator was amazing as well. The way it was written and performed was a ‘perfect match’ in the best way possible. 😊

What a great series!
