Ends on Cliffhanger

Saint was an absolute ass****, domineering alpha, aggressive, arrogant, kidnaps the FMC, has sexual needs & kinks and believes sex will make you weak for him.
Mila grew up in the foster care system, abused, betrayed, forced into marriage and kidnapped.
There was some drama, BDSM and Push & Pull.
Narrators did a good job.

Not a romance!

The story kept me guessing and I plan to read the sequel but just know, this is not a romance!! The MMC has no redeeming qualities - at least none that have been uncovered yet so I’m hoping for some kind of explanation to explain his horrible behavior. It’s the story of a selfish, evil, sadist that kidnapped and took advantage of an innocent young woman who is already struggling in life. He treats the FMC like dirt and I’m frustrated with her continued attraction to him when he’s treated her so horribly. He wants her respect and trust but has done nothing to deserve it. The FMC is very young so many of her actions are due to immaturity but still I find her behavior frustrating. I hope the next book takes a better turn.

Something more is going on here, other than an 80 year old agreement. Onto part 2
Narrators did a great job. Charlotte Claremont could read the book all on her own as I love listening to her. Her male voice is spot on, accents amazing. Will be looking for more books narrated by her.

Holy run around

The first 9 chapters were like “why did you take me?” “Who are you to me?” Then “tell me” over and over. The MMC was hyper aggressive. Scolding her for asking him, saying she was being disrespectful. By the end of the book I knew exactly the same as I did at the beginning, the whole thing was subterfuge. If they’d have tied up ONE of the plot points I’d be scrambling to listen to book 2. The saving grace was the female narrator. I will listen to anything she narrates. The male narrator sounded like one of the Mario brothers. Bummer. This trope is normally my jam.

OH LORD.. HE’S SOOOO DELICIOUSLY BAD 🤭😉😋🤫

I knew I shouldn’t start this Trilogy until all three books were released but, having tasted Bella J’s other books, I’m a weak willed woman and I just couldn’t stop myself from delving right into this deliciously dark delight. But I’m cursing my decision right now because the CLIFFHANGER is brutal and the sudden withdrawal of this toxic relationship is hard for me to come down from.

His name is Saint but he is a black-hearted Devil.. he is raw, dark, wicked seduction with cold, dead eyes and he oozes power and liquid domination which radiates off him clouding the air his captive Mila breathes. He killed and caused devastation in his wake holding all the cards in a game she didn’t yet know how to play. But Mila has inner strength honed from being an orphan and passed from home to abusive home then surviving the streets. When Mila’s ambushed their eyes clash and meet in hate-filled fiery gazes.. and Saint is relishing the hunt while Mila is dreading her only option.. marry him.

She will need to be strong and courageous to survive the challenges ahead.. survive and walk away after her kidnapping, her relocation to Italy, his secrets, his seductive taunts and his devastating revelations. Their hunger is primal, intense and raw and, when he’s not verbally taunting, sparring and being abusive, he likes to tie, likes to punish and likes to dominate. Anger, rage, fight, wicked sensual temptation and venom flows through both their bloodstreams as the captive pawn sheds precious tears and valiantly defies with every toxic encounter. However, it only intrigues and lures the monster in more as he threatens to break, dominate and dish out dark consequences.. but who will break first?

Worth a credit? Yes I loved.. loved.. loved every intense, suspenseful well-written dark chapter.. every sensual sizzling paragraph.. and every bitter broken word. And the dual POV back and forth was expertly brought to life by Michael and Charlotte’s stellar narration.
