Please get this narrator to do the dramatized version. I can’t take it anymore.

This was so well narrated, and I love the story, but the fact that he is not doing the dramatized version and I have to listen to that out of breath, guy is extremely ridiculous… I’m not the only one with the sentiment.

Vampire Bacteria??

Our narrator returns giving a solid voice to our cast of characters, but I think this story goes a little too far into the Sci-fi territory for me. I like the nuanced balance between Dark Fantasy Horror lore and Sci-fi elements which happens in Vampire Hunter D, and coming up with Vampire Bacteria felt very Resident Evil before Resident Evil. There was still plenty of funky super power stuff going on, and Mr. Pluto VIII was a fun-tastic over the top character. And I liked that there's a brief callback to the first book, giving a bit of a notion of the passage of time.

I liked it, but not as much as the other ones so far, but maybe I would have found Vampire Bacteria more interesting in 1986.

Tale of the Dead Town

4th book in the series. The story was fine, and performance was really good.
The first few books had just a small tid bit about D's past, and possible connection to the Ancient Ancestor.
This book didnt really give any new information on that subject. I guess its fine to have a stand alone story that has nothing to do with more of D's character development. But it just feels like its the same thing over and over, that hes gorgeous, has a powerful aura, and for some reason doesnt die from a steak to the heart anymore. It gets abit over played.

Otherwise, the story is very unique. I love the writing style, the world is really well developed and the plot is woven in really well.

I do seem to experience a very annoying aspect to these books, and that is the very short endings. Theres not much wrap up. Job done, bad guy killed, D rides away. Like, nothing else? Where is he going? What are his thoughts on what happened? Are the surviving characters ok? I am only a few books in, hopefully that changes.

Overall, I love the series and look forward to listening to the others
